The Census is here!
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/node/275
ScotlandsPeople has been updated to include over 9000 volumes of enumeration district books, comprising 200,000 images recording the details of 4.8 million people.
Scanned images of the original handwritten census books detail each address, from the finest hotels to cramped tenements and from ships at sea to people sleeping in tents.
Recorded on the night of 19 July 1921, against the accommodation, everyone present is listed with details including their relationships to each other, their age, their occupation and β for the first time β information on orphanhood, dependent children and workplace.
You can find guidance on investigating the 1921 Census at our website β and do let us know if you find anyone interesting!

Herstory - History
A Collection of Short Stories of Cairns & District Early Pioneering Women and Men
Based on our Shadows from the Past performances at Cairns Pioneer Cemetery where we tell stories of those buried in the cemetery through our dramatised walks.
In most cases, there is minimal information to work with. Our presentation of stories brings to life the depth of personality, emotion and colourful history, simply by capturing the nuances of historical newspaper articles, legal documents, licences and vocation. Writings are by Tessa Golding -Clarke.
This publication is now available in PDF format for $15 - to place your order please email our secretary - [email protected]
