The ANUJJC teaches traditional Japanese jujutsu, which uses strikes, joint locks, take-downs, grappling and throws to overcome an opponent.
Intro Courses run in Semester 1 & 2. The Australian National University Jujutsu Club (ANUJJC) teaches traditional Japanese jujutsu. This martial art originated during Japanโs feudal era and its purpose was to defend against armed and unarmed opponents. This month, a team of members from our clubs across the world have joined forces to participate in the Push Up challenge. Over the 4 weeks, each of the team is attempting to do 3,249 push-ups each. This number represents the lives lost to su***de in 2022, and part of the challenge is raising money for Lifeline to help combat this tragic statistic.
We have already met our initial goal as a team, but would love to contribute as much as we can to this cause.

Just over a week before the Semester 1 Intro course starts at the ANU Jujutsu Club, and we already have some sign ups!
We train in a traditional style of Japanese Jujutsu. Through the course, you will learn to fall safely, how to do defend against grabs and other basic self-defence. We aim for you to leave feeling more confident than when you started.

The course is a great way to learn basic-self defence, meet new people and destress your mind and body! You will learn basic self-defence and situational awareness, improve your self-confidence and physical conditioning, and be taught methods of striking, joint locking, take-downs, grappling, throwing and falling safely, all in a safe and welcoming environment.
