We make choices every day, and all of our choices have consequences, whether positive or negative.
My suggestion is to develop a mental habit of regularly challenging our choices, no matter the choice eg: should I do/say/eat this?
The question should be, "Is this the best choice for me now?"
By developing this mental habit your choice will become considered. We may still make choices that we later regret, but with more understanding and forgiveness, knowing that we made the best choice for ourselves at that time.
