Just a quick heads up in case you don't already know, the OzHarvest Coffs Harbour team's last day of operation in 2023 is this Friday 22nd Dec 2023.

We won't be offline for too long and will be back on Tues 2nd Jan 2024.

Big welcome to Cam who’s in Coffs to cover a few shifts this week and next week.

Apart from our 800+kg day of collections from our most excellent donors, we also managed to squeeze in a visit to Peach+Wolf Family Bakery🍑+🐺for their must-have sausage roll.

Hey Coffs! We’re looking to bolster our driver team as we continue to improve our food rescue operations in the Coffs region stretching from Woolgoolga to Bellingen.

If you like working independently whilst being part of a bigger team with a common goal and don’t mind a bit of physical work, problem solving on the fly and have a valid driver’s licence, go ahead and get in touch!

Today we were warmly welcomed at Levenvale Farm by Georgina (Bello Beef) who then introduced us to Luigi who runs The Patch Organics

This week, Cody (in high viz) from the Park Beach Plaza store of ALDI Australia lent a helping hand to combat food waste. 🙋🏻‍♂️ 🥩🥦🍎🍌🫑🍞🍠

We collected/rescued and distributed over 800kg on the day to local community groups like Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre, Urunga Neighbourhood Centre, Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre and Dorrigo Neighbourhood Centre
All of us appreciate how the local Aldi teams are problem solving to minimise quality food ending up in landfill. ✊

This week we had the pleasure of Stuart's company (Moonee store of ALDI Australia) to see what we get up to on shift. Hint: It sometimes involves a coffee break and a baked treat from fellow food donor Peach+Wolf Family Bakery! 🥐☕🥯🧇☕ .

This week, Chloe from Aldi jumped in the OzHarvest truck with Ursula to experience first hand what we do with all the quality surplus food donated by local food donors 🥕🍞🍎🥒, Annie and Darryl drop in on the Momentum Collective crew in Coffs to help restock their fridges and Nikki delivers food supplies to the team at the Soupie! 🤜🤛

Every Tues, our very generous and diligent food donors provide fruit, veggies, meat and bread that the OzHarvest Coffs Harbour team deliver to Urunga Neighbourhood Centre , Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre and Dorrigo Neighbourhood Centre for weekly pantry and community meals.

It's the day for shout outs!
First up, the crew at the Hoey Moey for thinking of us as part of their June 2023 T-Bone promotion. Today, Daniel Whiffen - General Manager of the Hoey Moey, presented OzHarvest (ably represented by Mike Blewitt and myself✌️) with a cheque for $977.50 raised (that'll allow us to provide the equivalent of 1955 meals to those in the Coffs area) Thank you! 🫶
Our other shout out is to the crew at TJM 4x4 Coffs Coast who gave our truck a thorough wash and detail this week ahead of the photo op :)🚿💦

Yesterday, we welcomed Aldi's Group Area Manager Matthew Seddon along for the ride to help rescue and deliver food.
An amazing 600+kgs were rescued from local Coffs Harbour Woolworths and Aldi's and delivered to our valued agencies who support the local community.

Great day to be out and about in the OzHarvest Coffs Harbour truck.
We collected close to a ton of good quality food 🍒🍎🍌🍋🥔🥗🥒🥕🌽from our wonderful local network of food donors and still managed to sneak in some whale spotting time at woopi headland 🐋

In FY22, the OzHarvest Coffs Harbour team of drivers and volunteers worked with 28 food donors in the area to rescue 96,380 kg of food that went to 70 charities, delivering 198,475 meals!
