Archery superstar Ella Gibson first started archery at the age of 14.

"Some coaches from my local club came to my secondary school and ran a taster course", she tells, and continues: "It was 1 hour a week after school for 6 weeks, I decided to go along and give it a go and from there I fell in love with it. I have never been particularly good at sports, although always enjoyed them, but archery was different, from the get go I always had a bit of talent at it. It used a lot of my natural skills- my strength and focus as well as my ability to analyse and my awareness of my body (which I think I got from doing years of dance as a kid.)"

Once again it’s Friday. 🙂🏹🎯 correct dash. Wrong vehicle. The Wagooon is in for some loving at Goodyear so the Cross 8 ute gets an all expenses paid trip to Brisvegas.

Sherwood Archery will be open Saturday morning. Our bow techs won’t be available as we are all competing in Brisbane at championships. Shop and range will be open and if you require any repairs drop them off and we will attend to them next week 🙂🏹🎯

A great afternoon of archery with 3DAAA Indoor Nationals using our centre as a location for their event. Some competitive score posted, especially from posting the equal second highest total at the venue and finishing third on X count. Kye will be hard to beat in his division.

The new Great Shot target bags are finally ready for sale. These new bags are light compact and easy to move. Measuring 40cm square and 20cm deep and weighing only 2.5 kg the Great Shot is recommended for bows upto 40 pounds draw weight. Retailing at $110 they are a great value light target that is proving durable and easy to remove arrows from. Available in all the best archery shops soon.

Afternoon classes for term 2 start next week. Beginners to advanced catered for. We have fun introductory classes for ages 5 and up as well as advanced classes for people wishing to extend their skills. Running Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 3 classes each afternoon starting from 3:30. Booking available on the website or by contacting the Centre.

Busy Tuesday night with lots of regulars In to shoot. We are open tonight until 8:30. Closed tomorrow for ANZAC day and will be open Friday 10-4 and Saturday 9-12. Have a great day tomorrow remembering those that gave their all for our country
