Thoughts over breakfast 🍳 on Exercise Physiology.
Everyone is an expert and knows what their body needs in the iron paradise. Especially with all of the information available on podcasts, social media, you tube and from your training buddy. Why on earth would you even consider paying for this advise when so much of it is free??

Overlooked, under rated and unused. Such a great resource that goes to waste on 99% of the population every day.
Yes I am one. Yes I am a good one. Yes I like helping people. Yes I smile to myself when I see and listen to people go on about their exercises that they do after seeing them on you tube or from listening to a podcast. Yes I feel shallow for laughing to myself but, whatever. Isn’t everyone an expert. I know when I want my car serviced I look how to do it on you tube and service it myself, not. Last time I built a house, you guessed it I built it myself, haha. If only I had a prescription pad……. Who the f..k would need a doctor.
Ps…. Men are the worst. They know everything. Breakfast this morning…. The man was telling the table full of women how good his podcast/you tube exercises were and the women were saying how good their exercises from their exercise physiologist were. Who looked and from my trained eye got up and moved better. Lets just say it wasn’t the skinny little man who “used to be fit”.

Slowly back to this at the moment. Consistent training 🙌 through winter indeed all year round = goals achieved….
Heavy double OHS at 110kg that’s a PR for me . Shaking like a tree in the breeze on the way down. Every muscle in the body trying to sync and activate all the way down into the bottom of a squat. Great “core” exercise. ⁣ Without solid spinal stability and good mobility and strength through this range of movement, this would not happen..... still felt like I was going to snap in half though. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Anyone else feeling like this after a big week of training and life…..It’s a pretty normal feeling for those of us who push hard in the gym or with different sports. Yes it isn’t physically optimal to train until your body feels like this, but psychologically and emotionally, there is something about hard work that ticks the boxes. Sometimes in your life you just need to make yourself feel like this.
Various recovery methods are a must and these ones in combination are key. Alone they work but used together throughout the week will see you getting better results. Yes sleep, nutrition and stress management aren’t here but these are what else you should be doing to
maximise results.

Morning gang. As you would know COVID Restrictions have again reached us up here in beautiful Coffs Harbour. Impact is minimal from what we have been doing already, so please don’t let it affect you too much. Attending the gym for your physical and mental health is more important during the next two weeks than ever.
As usual some of the advice is conflicting. It must be without a doubt challenging for any government to communicate policy to an entire state when (thank goodness), the state is filled with people of all different backgrounds and abilities to understand new info and apply to their individual circumstances. With that, the following differneces are required when you workout for the next 2 weeks.
Wear a mask. Keep checking in and out. Keeping washing your hands upon arrival and departure and keep cleaning equipment. Social distancing rules also still apply. There are exemptions and exceptions in relation to wearing a mask. I can let you know of these when I see you at the gym if you ask. As usual at APA everyone has everyone else’s’ best interests at heart, meaning you are in a safe place. Can’t wait to see you during the week. If can look 👀 great in a mask then so can you 😊.

Brotherly love. ❤️ It’s a great feeling watching family train together, especially big brother helping the little fella. Mum and the two boys getting in some training/therapy at the start of the school holidays. Luke’s confidence has come such a long way here in a safe place for him. I was training Mum and he took it upon himself to show Toby and spot him with a bench press. So proud of you you Luke, well done matey. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Significant Compound fracture left femur 04.08.20 after 6 metre fall. Physically and mentally debilitating.
The comeback started 6 weeks ago with me here at APA. This fella is so resilient it’s not funny. Hat 🧢 off to you Garry proud of you staying in the good fight mate. I know how difficult it is when the demons come knocking to keep training…. Keep it up and the outcome that you deserve will be in front of your eyes. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
