Preschool within a Long day care offers several advantages over sessional preschool when it comes to school preparation:

Extended Hours: Long day care operates for longer hours than sessional preschool, providing children with more time for structured learning activities, social interactions, and play. This extended time allows for a more comprehensive educational experience, better preparing children for the longer school days they will encounter in school.

Consistent Routine: Long day care centers often follow a consistent daily routine, which mirrors the structure of a typical school day. This consistency helps children develop important skills such as time management, following instructions, and transitioning between activities – all of which are essential for success in school.

Holistic Development: Long day care programs offer a wide range of activities and experiences designed to support children's holistic development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. This comprehensive approach ensures that children are exposed to a diverse array of learning opportunities that align with the skills and knowledge they will need for school.

Socialisation: Long day care provides children with ample opportunities for socialisation with peers of different ages and backgrounds. This helps children develop important social skills such as cooperation, communication, and empathy, which are crucial for building relationships and succeeding in a school environment.

Overall, long day care offers a comprehensive and supportive environment that fosters children's development across multiple domains, better preparing them for the academic and social challenges they will encounter in school.

You know the food is good when Miss Suz is in the kitchen. Cooking up traditional Lebanese and Italian food just like Tayta/Nonna makes.

And even more so when the children stop when passing the kitchen to ask what is for lunch.

Thank you for all that you do every day!
😘

We love promoting the businesses within the Kids@Play community.
See below and the link for this awesome mums collection of sensory kits.

I am the owner and creator of Carlo&Cub sensory kits. I am a mother of two beautiful children and a dedicated primary school educator. I have a strong passion working with children, more specifically creating fun and engaging experiences that they will take with them throughout their lives.

When my son turned 2, I made a sensory kit and was in awe of just how much he was engaged. The authentic language he developed and strong communication skills shone so brightly. He had asked me so many questions and was able to explore for a sustainable amount of time.

You might be thinking, why sensory play? Why develop sensory kits? Sensory play is simply using ‘play’ to stimulate our five senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and hear. Every second of the day, a child will use their senses to explore and learn new things.

Sensory play has an absolutely wide range of positive benefits for children. As children grow, it is essential to provide them with endless opportunities to explore and play using their senses, this has such a positive impact on their cognitive, physical and social development. Not only is it fun it helps with learning tasks and supports cognitive growth, language development, gross motor skills, social interaction and problem solving skills.

Every child is different and will respond to sensory play differently. I’ve created sensory kits with different themes which all contain different pieces of sensory materials to cater for the different needs of children.
Sensory play opens endless possibilities. I am so excited about creating these kits for children. Please check out my range if kits at www.carloandcub.com.au or via instagram Facebook carloandcub.

Kids@Play Croydon Park
With sadness, we are writing to let you know we have sold our business.

We have sought out a buyer who appreciates the business, understands how to operate it, and is keen and capable of continuing to educate and care for your children.

The new owners, Andrew and Christine Mascari, recognise that the price they are paying includes a premium for the goodwill created through good relationships with our existing families. So they are keen, along with all current Educators, to protect that value by working hard to keep you happy.

The Educators support the sale and are optimistic about the future under new management.

This will take effect on the close of business on 2nd September 2022.

I just love how every day conversations and interactions can turn into some valuable teaching moments. Like today:

We welcomed all of our friends this morning and sat on the mat for some learning.
Miss Maria was giving out her morning cuddles when Luca and Ni**od began to……be boys!

Bianca said to Miss Maria, “they can go to the Koalas.” Miss Maria asked, “what if we split the boys and girls into different rooms. Would it be fun?”
Luca said, “no. I like playing with Bianca”.
Ni**od said, “I like playing with Teresa.”
Ryan said, “I like playing with my sister.”

“Boys are naughty and like to be rough,” said one Kanga child.
Miss Maria said, “boys can come in all forms. They can like rough things, tough things, and pretty things, but it will be sad to split the girls and the boys as we all like the same things and different things. That makes us whatever we are and whoever we want to be.

From this, we will aim to learn about stereotypes and challenge some old-fashioned thinking and perspectives.
We all enjoyed todays book, “Some Boys”.

The joeys and kangas are not too young to be learning about stereotypes.

Centre-based services - regulation 136(1)

The National Regulations outline the mandatory requirements for services in relation to first aid qualifications, anaphylaxis management training and emergency asthma management training.

Services must have staff with current approved qualifications on duty at all times and immediately available in an emergency.
