O'Loughlin Catholic College
Offering holistic Catholic education to students in the Darwin region from Year 7-12.
Fr Shehan was ordained at the Cathedral and will serve the people of God in our diocese. Our student leaders proudly participated in the ceremony.
Update: Falls Creek Victoria - Stage 1 ODE.
The weather is amazing (COLD!) with some of the best weather conditions they’ve had all season. There has been plenty of snow and students have had full access to the whole mountain with all lifts and runs open.
Yesterday was a perfect ‘blue bird’ day with a top of 4 degrees on the mountain, which believe it or not, is perfect t-shirt weather 🤩
Students have so far enjoyed two ski lessons and are progressing well, considering they have never seen snow before. They will enjoy one final lesson in the morning to sharpen their skills before their final day on the slopes.
OCC SENIORS OUTLAST A DESPERATE HAILEYBURY
The inaugural Seniors Competition kicked off yesterday with O'Loughlin taking on Haileybury. OCC started strong, controlling most of the first quarter but only managing five behinds. It wasn't until Vice Captain Jacob Dempsey marked deep in the forward line to kick start the goal scoring.
The second quarter was a tight contest, with both teams having their chances. O'Loughlin stretched their lead with Kairyce Monaei-Lowah snapping a nice goal on his left foot and Oscar Knight kicking a brilliant snap from the pocket, for an early goal of the year contender.
The third quarter saw Haileybury ramp up their pressure, locking the ball deep in the forward line. However, they failed to capitalise on their dominance, only kicking three behinds due to the valiant efforts of Jasper Da Rocha, Max Wilson and Taluga Adakpoku in defence.
In the final quarter, OCC needed to mix something up in order the change the game. Kairyce was moved into the ruck, a game-changing decision. Kairyce dominated the last quarter with his on-ball brigade of Gus Trigwell, Thomas Ranie and Jacob Demsey. Captain Max Trigwell, moved forward after battling hard in the midfield all game and kicked the opening goal of the quarter, shifting the momentum and leading OCC to an 18-point victory.
