Speedweek Rd 4 and 5 recap.
Round 4 HFM raced at Avalon raceway for the first time this season.
Whilst the team didn't get the results we were after the night was about just getting laps in and testing out our new shock package.
Timed 9th out of 10 with wrong gear set in.
Heat 1 dropped back to 10th where we would finish on difficult to read and technical track.
Put us toward the rear of the b main after track work the changes made didn't suit the track at all and with very limited laps then to have a part failure on lap 8 resulting in a dnf.
Overall no results but learnt alot about the new shock package and the changes made to the car. Thanks to the crew for a great job Kev, Craig, Sandy, Simone and Garry
Roll on to round 5 at Premier Speedway after their huge effort to make the track more raceable HFM were keen to get some laps in for preparation for the classic later this month.
Time trials timed 11th against tough competition.
Heat 1 2nd lap in Jamie hooked a big rut and rolled out of 2 not able to finish the heat.
Started rear of the b main having a ok run getting up to 15th from 19th but pulling in on lap 9 with issues from the heat incident.
What was a very testing night for HFM with a few teething issues although a massive thanks to Kev, Sandy, Simone and Garry who all did an astounding job of getting the car ready after each race it was a huge task that they arose to the job.
HFM have now sent our steering box away and will look to replace our tyre bleeders if anyone wants to help out we have a few places on the car for the classic and rest of the season.
Also thanks to Leon for all the advice throughout both nights.
This would not be possible with out our valued partners.

Classic update
Unfortunately for HFM the night didn't go to plan starting in time trials.
Hotlaps the car was ok Jamie getting 4th quick out of the 7 which we were happy about after almost 10 months out of the seat.
Time trials on the first lap out of 2 Jamie got all wheel spin cranking car sideways touring the infeild on the back straight, second lap was better but only managing 22nd out of the 27 cars.
First heat started 8th got up to 7th but 4 laps in coming into 2 lost power and dnf with Jamie pulling in covered in fuel after an injector line had failed.
Second heat starting pole, with the problem with the fuel line the team didn't get a chance to change the car for the track conditions and with limited racing Jamie was no where near where he needed to be finishing at the back.
C main started 16th got up to 13th in the first lap but had no where to go in turn 1 on the second lap when a car checked up resulting in Jamie running up the back and spinning and getting hit ripping the front end out ending our night.
With low points and possibly not making it to the final night we have decided not to run the final night even if we made it through and just enjoy watching from the hill.
We will now re assess when our next show will be and get the car back together and go again.
Big thanks to our crew Rhys, Craig, Harry, Kev, Simone and Sandy for helping all night.

πHFM is classic boundπ
After sustaining injury at our last meeting where we come off a heat win and qualifying directly into the a main and with Jamie requiring surgery on his knee the team weren't sure if they were going to be able to race this season, the team couldn't miss the chance to be apart of the 50th Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic so we will have a crack at it tonight for our qualifying night against the best in the world. With a slight change to our design this year, we welcome back the infamous daffodils that were missing off the car last year for our major partner, Golden Acres.
"On a personal note I would like to thank everyone that has been apart of getting this all to happen after a tough 2022, I'd like to say a special thanks to Aunty Diane, Mum, Dad, Sandy, Simone, Rhys, Kev, Harry, Chook, John and Dale the amount of support you have shown me over the last 9 months is amazing and can't be thanked enough now let's go get some results, stated Jamie "

Our Story
HFM (Heyen Family Motorsport) was formed in 2012 after the team purchased their first 410 sprintcar from Queensland, with little to no knowledge of the behind the scenes of sprintcars the team were in for a big adventure.
Whilst the team had previously raced in the lightning sprint category we did not have a single spare or anything to suit a sprintcar, so it was off to buy everything we thought we would need (which turned out to be not enough). After the spares were taken car of it was time to find something that would transport it all around and fortunately we found a nice truck that would fit everything we had (albeit tight but fit).
Our first season seen about what we had expected from ourselves. The second season was tough at the start but got going a bit better towards the end. We decided to sit a season out to rebuild our motor and build the budget back up and tack our third season, we started a bit slower than we anticipated but started moving forward mid season and made improvements every meeting. Fourth season was our best yet getting our first heat win and qualify directly into an A main with more then 35 cars in the pits, it was also our most trying season with 2 bent chassis one of which was through no fault of our own and a blown and hurt motor.
We now look forward to our fifth season coming up which is set to be our most exciting yet.
