Pfizer Vaccines are here!!

All our current patients are welcome to book to receive their Vaxzevria (Astrazeneca) or Comirnaty (Pfizer). Due to minimal supplies, we are only offering bookings to our current patients at this stage. Please check back in 1 week and we will make another announcement.

Pfizer Vaccines will be available from 28/9/2021. Bookings is now opened to all between 12-59 years old. Those who are over 60 years old will still be offered AstraZeneca unless satisfied certain medical conditions listed. Government new restriction on Telehealth -
From next Monday 20/7/2020 on, Telehealth rebate could only be applied to patient who has physically been seen in our clinic in the last 12 months. This is to stop the pop-up internet clinics providing sub-standard care to our patients as well as making sure all our patients have an ongoing relationship with our GPs.
However, we will continue to offer Telehealth to all of our patients even though they may not have been physically seen in our clinic, a normal non-rebatable fee will apply. Further details please see or www.banksiatelehealth.com.au

Further update about Stage 2 of easing of restriction.

Although the Government has not been supporting our patients enough to get the appropriate rebate to see our doctors. We are doing our bit so, we have decided from 16/3/2020, we will bulk bill our Telehealth consult for the following groups:

1/ those aged over 70
2/ people with chronic diseases
3/ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged over 50
4/ those who are immunocompromised
5/ pregnant women
6/ new parents with babies

Our GP specailists are well prepared to advise about risks and concerns.

Instruction to booking a Telehealth Sessions:

1. Book Telehealth Consult with our reception by phoning 5248 1299.
2. Download Skype to your device, computer, laptops
3. Search the clinic as a “contact” – ID: Banksia Telehealth, then add as contact
4. Make sure you test your camera and microphone settings prior to your consultation time
(we recommend making a test call to skype)
5. Please do not attempt to call or message us through Skype as this is not monitored and we will not answer.
(If you need to contact us, please call our reception.)
6. Please be ready approximately 5 minutes prior to your consultation time and we initiate the call
7. Alternatively, a phone consultation can be arranged

1. Current patients needing follow up (e.g. results) who do not require examinations
2. Mental health consultations
3. Patients with poor mobility (e.g. disability, nursing home, post fracture, etc)
4. Rural patients for family planning issues (must have BP machine or recent readings)
5. Medical certificates requests (no guarantee for issues)
6. Repeat prescription requests (must have prior arrangement)
7. Travel consultation
8. Any other with GP’s discretion

Examples of inappropriate consultations for telehealth:
1. Anything requiring examinations, including routine hypertension check up
2. Most work-cover / TAC / legal / fitness to work consultations
3. Pre-employment check ups
4. Ante-natal care
5. Most paediatrics consultations (with limited exceptions)
6. Mental Health Care Plans / Chronic Disease Management Plans / Health Assessments

Fee
A non-medicare rebatable $80 will be taken as deposit at the time of booking.
Consultation fee is charged at 15 mins increment at $80. So a 15 mins consult will be $80 and a 30 mins consult will be $160.
If a subsequent face to face consultation is required at the clinic, no further out of pocket charge is incurred.
