Geelong Cricket Club unveils familiar face as senior coach Geelong Cricket Club has appointed opening batter and former first class player Eamonn Vines as the Cats’ senior coach for the 2024-25 season.
Over the last month the Geelong Cricket Club has been working to find the best coaches to ensure the success of our Men's program is continued into the future.
It’s with great excitement we have appointed Eamonn Vines as Head Coach and Jake Brown as Senior Assistant Coach .
Eamonn and Jake are extremely keen to work together to take the men’s cricket group on the journey to success.
‘I’m really excited about working with this group for the coming seasons. The development over the last few years has the squad in a position to perform well. With the current coaching group in place I’m really looking forward to pre season and beyond, to also be able to bring Jake into the mix will be great for the group. His work coaching locally along within our female program has him well prepared to take this group forward’. Eamonn
‘I’m really looking forward to working with the playing group. We are looking to build on the last few seasons. Working with Eamonn and the coaching group is going to be exciting and can’t wait to get involved. Being able to work across both programs will definitely help my development as a coach but also continue to bring the groups closer together.’ Jake.
The Geelong Cricket Club would like to thank outgoing Coach, Nick Speak for his dedication to the Club, particularly through the challenges of COVID. His impact on the playing group and particularly on the emerging talent that has been recognised in State and Australian pathway programs is to be commended.
Amazing news!! Our very own Liam Blackford contracted for Victoria! 👏👏🏏
Congratulations to our Men's First XI scorer, Steff Shaw, who received the Cameron Medal on Friday night at the presentation dinner of the VCA Umpires and Scorers Association as Scorer of the Year.
The award is formal recognition of the work done by scorers in Victoria and is named after the Camerons.
Jack Cameron senior and junior had an unbroken association and service with the North Melbourne (now Greenvale) Cricket Club and Victorian cricket from 1939–40 to 2002–03, with some 800 District First XI Matches and over 600 First Class and international matches between them.
Congratulations to all our award winners at presentation last night!
What a great season and wonderful achievement by all.
A month on from having a rib removed and bearing a mighty scar, young Geelong Cricket Club gun Liam Blackford is back hitting balls. Victorian cricket’s ‘forgotten man’ emerged from an awful ordeal with his dreams intact. CODE SPORTS STORY: https://bit.ly/3xrSurg
