If you haven’t seen this yet please check it out! In our business we work closely with producers and see the effort, love and passion they put in to what they produce. It’s great to see putting a spot light on the impact of waste in the food-chain. Why would we waste such precious food? We look forward to sharing with our customers more stories like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oYd1JdmyEk - Search Eat Well Tasmania Too Good To Waste on YouTube.

With our daily consumption of foods, we need to take pause to think where did this come from? Recently we had the opportunity to visit some of our local carrot 🥕 growers in the North of Tasmania. The dedication, pride and care they put in to every gram of produce we receive in to our warehouse is inspiring. We believe at Southern Foodservice this message should be shared and celebrated. Tune in for more local producer spotlights soon.

Recently we got to visit some of the best Tasmania Farms where our produce comes from. It was exciting to see both new technology on show and the passion of the producers. We are all very lucky to live so close to where our produce is grown.

// Happy first day of winter! ❄️⛄️It's time for big, warm flavours and deep, rich colours. Think caramelized veg and buttery sauces, slow-cooked stews and Sunday roasts.

Cooking with winter produce is something special; flavours are subtle, and the colours vibrant. Winter means brassicas—broccoli, cauliflower, and sprouts—whose sweet crunch we love eaten raw or cooked 🥘. The earthy, woody flavour of beets makes us think of bakes—savoury and sweet. And our idea of heaven is a pile of buttery and garlicky sauteed greens 🥬🥦

Unsure what’s seasonally available in Tasmania? We’ve created handy pocket guides that you can save to your phone and whip out next time you’re at the shop or market. Head to the LINK in our bio to download.
