Are you a Hobart mum has welcomed or is expecting a baby during April to August this year?

Would you like to help medical students learn how babies grow and develop within a family?

The Kids and Families Program at the Tasmanian School of Medicine, UTAS, is seeking new volunteer families living in the greater Hobart area, to begin a learning journey with our first-year students. This involves a small group of students visiting you in your home, 5 times over a 2-year period.

Kids and Families Program The Kids and Families Program is an important part of the training of medical students (Trainee Doctors) at the University of Tasmania. It introduces students to normal childhood and the importance of the family. It is the first long-term professional relationship that medical students have.

This mum has to go back to work at 6 weeks as her husband is studying at uni and financially it has been difficult for them.

It’s was a great opportunity to check in with my mums and their partners and have a conversation around R U Ok 💛💛

Lou and I had a fantastic opportunity to catch up with the wonderful physios from The Pelvic Studio, Hannah, Emma and Morgan.

A relaxed evening where we were all able to share information on how to best support our mums both antenatally and in the postnatal period.

So great to be able to network with fellow allied health professionals. Thank you so much

There is so much sadness in the world right now it breaks my heart! Gorgeous baby Claudia came to visit me this week at Terry White Chemist and she reminded me that there are so many things to be grateful for and one of those is that I love what I do everyday 💕💕 Thank you for my special cuddles and to your gorgeous mummy Lucy for captioning the moment 💕💕

I cant believe I was here in Prague just 2 christmas's ago with my daughter's - my how the world has changed!

Sometimes babies come into the world too early and this begins a journey for the new parents that they were not expecting. An emotional journey of ups and downs, a journey of resilience and finding a strength and love within that you didn't know was possible 💜

Then we have the amazing midwives, NICU/SCN nurses, the medical doctors and allied health professionals who go above and beyond to help these little babies grow and have the chance to live a full life 💜

We also have those little babies who don't survive which is a heartbreaking experience for all 💜

We would like to recognise all of you on World Prematurity Day! What you do everyday is to be celebrated & admired 💜
