It is with heavy hearts we can confirm a Fire and Rescue Service firefighter has passed away overnight following a factory fire at Slacks Creek early yesterday morning.

Izabella Nash joined the Fire and Rescue Service in 2014 and served as a First Class Firefighter.

A second firefighter, Lia Drew, who is a Senior Firefighter, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The thoughts of all QFES members are with Izzy’s and Lia’s families, friends and fellow crew members.

Investigations into this incident are underway.

Further information will be provided when appropriate.

A group of mining bosses have threatened to spend more than $20 million on advertising against the Secure Jobs, Better pay bill.

It’s no surprise they’re prepared to spend millions to protect their record profits and avoid giving workers a pay rise.

This week, the Queensland Government banned fake unions.

These fake unions claim they are a cheaper and "independent alternative" to registered trade unions. They openly set out to compete with and undermine genuine trade unions, and divide workers.

See ya! Don't let the door hit you on the way out 🐀

In the last 10 years, the Federal LNP has been consistently undermining universal healthcare. There have been freezes on rebates for GPs, effective reduction in public hospital funding and failure to look after older Queenslanders and disabled Queenslanders.

Scott Morrison only a few months ago said state governments, including the Queensland government, asking for funding for public hospitals was a “shakedown”.

We need a change in Federal government to see real change in healthcare

Put the LNP last this election.
