Our friendly neighbours up at Cooloola Kart Track are chasing some volunteers to help with this weekends race meet. Its always hard to run a meet when it coincides with AKC due to many volunteers being away.

If anyone could help out they would be very grateful, it is a two day event but any help would be appreciated - the club is offering accommodation, food, voucher etc.

If you can help out let me know and I will put you in contact with the relevant person.

6 more sleeps till race day !! With AKC running on the same weekend we are a few volunteers down, would be great to get as many volunteers as possible. let me know if you can help 🏎️

Rightio superstars I have fixed up a few things, any problems let me know! If anyone can stop in and make Rachel have a break on the outgrid throughout the day that would be awesome :) You might have to forecefully remove her clipboard and give her a light nudge.

I won't be at the track for most of the day, and I respectfully ask that no one calls me either (sorry im on nightwork so will be snoozing), I will send out another message with instructions for those who are new to our volunteer role and a contact person.

Don't forget to help yourself to food and drinks throughout the day.

Any volunteers that are applying for a blue card you will need to be linked to the club before your card will be processed.

I can do that for you all you need to do is send me your reference number and date of birth.

Round 1 is upon us. Next weekend 4th of February we are racing!

The slate is wiped clean and were looking for the following volunteers:

Grid Marshall
Grid assistant
Scales Marhsall
Scales assistant
Flaggy/cut through
Starters tower assistant
Spares, spares, spares................

Under the new ruling by KA our volunteers will need to have a blue card this year too. If you're interesting in volunteering and don't have one don't stress get in touch and I can talk you through all you need to know.

It's going to be a great year of racing and we need all hands on deck to help it run smoothly, send us a message if you're keen. All training provided.

Whose In? ?

So good to see our new fridge in the nomination room has arrived so all the officials and volunteers can grab lunch or a snack at their own convenience throughout race day. It’s all stocked and loaded ready to go 😋.

Roster as it stands - always subject to change ;)

All the food is now in the nomination room, please help yourself through out the day. Snacks only will be at each station.

Have you got some free time this Saturday? I am looking for volunteers for the following time slot's:

Cut through - 11am -2pm
Cut through - 5pm - close
** Please note to do cut through you must be over the age of 15.

I am also looking for extras for all other positions but at this stage the above time slots are a MUST, the race cannot be run without the minimal volunteer positions filled.

As a thankyou gift you will receive lunch and a practise voucher.

Thankyou to everyone for turning up and getting the job done yesterday, it was a very different race day to how things normally work with a fair amount of new faces helping out, which was awesome, hoping that some of you really enjoyed the roles that you took on and you are willing to put your hand back up in the future.

It was nice to hear people again say they experienced what it takes to put a race meet on by just listening to what happens on the radio and can now appreciate and understand the running side of the event more.

Good evening all. Fridges are stocked with morning & afternoon tea and drinks. Fridges are in each area if you don’t know where it is please ask.

Everyone who is volunteering tomo is welcome to lunch. Tomorrow it will be in the bar area in the fridge right at the end, please go and help yourself to a plate and sandwiches and fruit whenever it suits you.

Volunteers:

This is a generic message to all the volunteers if you need anything specific, please let me know. I had many requests so I have tried to accommodate them all and share the load with these requests as best as I could, whilst being mindful or who is also familiar in certain areas, if there are any questions or concerns each area has an official floating around.

I am going to outline a few things, I apologise to those who might already know but need to treat it as if it’s your first-time cause there’s a few newbies:

All volunteers must wear yellow vests, if you don’t have one, I will need to sign one out and in for you this applies to radios too, these can be collected from the steward/family room (yet to confirm where this has been placed- but general area). Please also bring hat and warm clothes for Saturday it’s going to be cold, (not as bad as AKC though 😉).

There is drinks and refreshments supplied, each area has their own fridge that I stock please help yourself, don’t be shy. There is also lunch provided to volunteers this time you will need to collect yourself from the fridge when you get a break/finish etc whatever time so make sure you get some. I will confirm which fridge on here, still in discussions with Scott re this as we speak.

Because there is a lot of rotation happening can we make sure that there is a volunteer/official in each area before rotation as close to the hour as possible, just communicate with each other so we can keep the race day flowing with all positions being filled.

Lastly I will update on this page on race day to communicate if needed.

This is what my current volunteer timetable looks like, very scary with only 4 days to go. A lot of our usual volunteers are away or have prior commitments and quite frankly they deserve a break.

If you know anyone that can help out even for an hour please get them to contact me.
