Hi beautiful people 👋🏼

It has been awhile between posts hasn’t it!

Sometimes we need to step away from things in life to reassess.

Life has been pretty tough, yet so rewarding the last 6+ months. I’ve lost a lot but gained so much more.

I’m working Full Time at Lorna Jane which I love, so currently not doing Personal Training sessions but my books are still open for Online Coaching.

I want this page and my coaching to be more than just fitness. I want it to be about self love, self respect, being you and being so damn unapologetic about it.

I want to help women and men to see and become their full potential. I want to see you thrive and love your life, love yourself and love your training, like I do.

I’m opening up a few spots online for a discounted price of $40 per week.

Hey! Just a reminder that we’ve all been beginners. Every single one of us.

We didn’t just wake up one morning with a big bum or a flat stomach (we all can dream haha)

Your story will be different. Be proud of your journey. Don’t compare it to others.

If you put in the effort, be consistently every day, every week, every month, you’ll reap the rewards. Just remember that good things take time.

Choose your hard!

So often we back fall back into the things that feel ‘easy’ and ‘comfortable’ because when we’re doing something new it feels foreign and hard.

Think about this:

Would you prefer to be in the exact same spot you’re in now, 12 months from now?

Or

Do you want to look back in 12 months times and think WOW I f**ken did it!

Only you can change the narrative and take the reigns of your life.

Take this as your sign to do the things that are ‘hard’ and make you feel uncomfortable because that’s where the real growth lies and you’ll never regret it, I promise you that!

There are 2 ways you can look at a fitness coach.

You think “I just pay them to provide me with a workout plan, nutrition and check ins/ accountability”

Or

“My coach is my personal cheerleader. They are providing me the tools and guidance that I need and supporting me in my journey to become the best version of me”

✨Progress comes from consistency ✨

I set the goal to do 1 ab wheel on my toes by comp week in May, which I’ve surprisingly achieved but want to better this.

This is only week 3 and goes to show that whatever you put your mind to you can accomplish!

You are capable of anything. 🙌🏻

3 years of consistency.

The word that is most thrown around in the fitness world and realistically relates to most things in life.

Consistency is what separates you from the rest. It’s what will help you achieve your goals.

We make time for what’s important to us.

Ask yourself:
Is my health important to me?
Do I want to become the best version of me possible?
Am I getting in my own way of my goals?

In order to make progress you have to actually start, so stop making excuses for why you can’t do it.

P.S. Time poor is not an excuse 😉

Myth: Cardio is the best way to lose weight

Fact: While cardio can help to accelerate weight lost, strength training combined with some cardio will be most effective.

Strength training helps to build muscle mass. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn*

*The muscles need to be used and exercised in order for this to take most effect

The differences between a build phase and a cut phase.

Build phases can leave you feeling not so comfortable and confident in your body but are super important for muscle growth!

Speaking from experience, I’m feeling a fair bit fluffy lately but if you know your end goal, keep your eyes on the prize!

Being in a calorie deficit all year round can be done but is not really sustainable nor is it needed.

Get yourself a coach or educate yourself around each phase and decide on an action plan to get you achieving your goals, whether it be to build muscle, lose body fat or anything in between 🙂💪🏼

Guess who is the one standing in the way of you and your goals: YOU

Do you want to be in the same place you were at the end of 2022 at the end of this year? I bet your answer is no.

Stop being afraid of your potential!
You weren’t put on this earth to be mediocre and unhappy.

Stop looking at others and wishing you looked like them or had the life they have. Wishing won’t create your new life.

We’re 2 weeks into the new year. Think about where you can be in 6 months time and commit to becoming a better you in 2023 💜

1 year of growth, mentally and physically.

1 year ago, my focus was a calorie deficit to lose body fat.

Calorie deficits are not sustainable long term. There is a time and place for them.

On the right is me currently, in a calorie surplus, training with intent to build muscle and get stronger.

What I’m trying to get at is you will have so many different phases in your fitness journey.

Each one is equally as important as the other.

What’s also important is your mindset during these times and focusing on the goal, focus on enjoying your training rather than your end ‘dream body’ because we will always want something else.

I challenge you to love yourself and cheer yourself on, even on the hardest of days because tomorrow is the next step in your journey 😄

Hey everyone 👋🏼

Thought I’d post up some fun facts about me to get to know me better 😁

❣️I am 30 years old (31 in January 🤫) which makes me an Aquarian ♒️

❣️I have been training in a gym for almost 10 years now. I have not always done powerlifting. I started with my first coach in 2018 where I learnt all about different training and nutrition. Best thing I ever did!

❣️My reason for creating my business and the idea behind the name is to build a community of incredible, supportive humans that are unshakeably confident, strong and thriving inside and out.

❣️I am a dog mum to 2 gorgeous Shar pei boys, Zeus & Spud.

❣️If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be a Grill’d Crispy Bacon and Cheese burger and chips 🤤

❣️I am a massive advocate for loving yourself and the body you are in. I love who I am and everything that makes me, me 🙂

❣️ I am learning to sew 🪡 👀 (slowly 😂)

❣️ I’m a massive dork/ idiot and love to laugh and make other people laugh.

Proof that if you put in the effort long term you can achieve whatever you want.

It doesn’t happen overnight.
You make mistakes, you learn from them, you grow.

Something that I have learnt in the process is to love myself and my body at every stage.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t ever have negative thoughts, but the positive ones outweigh the negative. When you catch yourself having a negative thought, look for something that you do love about yourself, even if it’s just the dimple you have when you smile.

We’re all unique and on different journeys, never compare yourself 💜💜

Hello everyone!

My name is Ebony, the girl behind The Strength & Soul Collective.

I have been training within a gym setting for the best part of 10 years now. The journey has had many twists and turns but it’s a rewarding one.

Fitness/sport was not much of an interest of mine growing up though.
I’m sure many of you can relate to the bullying in high school. The best insult was “tree trunk legs”, which left me very insecure. They’ve now grown to be my favourite part of me.

My vision behind The Strength & Soul Collective is to guide and help you to become the strongest, most unshakeable version of you, inside and out.
