Hey! I’m Maree 👋
Mumma to 2 kids - Sachi, 7 and Ashton, 4.
They are my everything and my reason behind Little Dance Company.

I created this safe family environment dance program for families just like mine. Busy, crazy and full of life!

I used to own a previous dance program where I ran classes in 7 locations around Melbourne, with subcontractor teachers and over 800 students.
I was a mum then and I was BURNT!

It was not fair on myself or my kids and it needed to change!

So here is Little Dance Company.

One beautiful venue , minimal classes, no subcontracting teachers and casual classes. Offering the flexibility we all need!

It has always been a huge passion of mine to share my love of dance with young ones and I never wanted to stop doing what I love but I also want to give my children all of me and not half.
Today I can happily say - I can now have it all. Teach what I love and be the mother I always wanted to be ❣️

“Let’s Go”

Our “Tiny Dancers” class has been specifically designed for 3-4 year old children to learn the foundations of Ballet & Jazz in a fun, creative & imaginative way.

Children will have the opportunity to express themselves in a well-structured class with some free time to explore their own dancing, along with the vital developmental skills such a rhythm, coordination, balance & social skills.

Each class will take them on a new adventure / theme with the use of props, accessories & fun interactive materials. All classes are based on the theory of “fun” learning!

A 45-minute class whereby parents are able to sit in & watch (which I encourage within each of our age-groups) so you can see your child grow from week to week.

“Time to Groove”

Our “Tots & Co” dance classes are designed for exploring 2-3 year olds, accompanied by a fun interactive adult. This class will focus on your child's developing body & motor skills with exercises including movement, rhythm, balance, music & games. With an exciting new theme each week & lots of props & accessories to use.

This high energy 30-minute dance class will be the perfect introduction for your child to be on their way to becoming a “Little Company Dancer”.

“A bow-tiful new temporary home”

Whoohoo, I’m so excited to announce that I’ve found a new, temporary venue to host our Patterson Lakes classes!

Chelsea Basketball Stadium
1 Cannes Avenue, Bonbeach

This will be our new home for the duration in which it takes to complete the cleanup & rebuilding of the Patterson Lakes studio - I’ll be sure to keep you updated throughout this process.

Classes will commence here as of Tuesday 22nd February.

**Please note that unfortunately our Prep Thursday 4pm class will remain on hold until we can find an appropriate venue available at this time slot.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to not only the team at Chelsea Basketball stadium for being so accommodating during this time, but as always my Little Dance Community for all of your support, encouragement & understanding over the last few weeks - it warms my heart so much to know we’ve got each other’s backs!

“Keeping the magic alive”

My goodness it was so lovely to see all of my Cheltenham families yesterday! It just felt so amazing to get back into what I love doing & to watch the smiles on your little dances’ faces as they skipped into the room!
 
As some of you may / may not be aware, unfortunately due to the devastating fire in a neighbouring tenancy at Patterson Lakes, our classes within that particular studio are on hold until further notice.

I have been on the phone all week with so many venues & are currently waiting on the council to confirm details, however as per my mantra “Never Miss a Chance to Dance”, I have decided to offer some pop-up park classes this week until we have an update.

It is with so much excitement that I announce the commencement of Term 1, this Thursday 10th February.

Having a little family of my own means I personally understand how hard it can be to commit every week with life’s ups & downs & just the everyday juggle that comes with family life, therefore I have based my dancing business around being as flexible as I can be & offering classes on a casual, week-to-week basis.

“Pregnant or Covid”

I guess it was only a matter of time; I’d managed to dodge the Covid bullet our entire Christmas holidays… but Murphy’s Law, just as I’m preparing to head back into the studio, I’ve been taking tests every second day & sure enough… those dreaded pink lines appeared (not the elated pregnant ones mind you)

Therefore it’s with an extremely heavy heart that I announce classes will be on hold until further notice… 😥

I promise to make my comeback a strong & unforgettable one, as soon as I possibly can!

“Time to get back into the groove”

The older I get, the more I realise that the little things in life, aren’t so little anymore… they’re everything!

I had an absolute ball these Christmas holidays; so many smiles, laughs, fun in the sun (not to mention tears & tantrums) with my little fam, but it’s time to get back into the groove as we head back to school, work, routine… & DANCE!!!

“What a whirlwind”

As we wind down for yet another year; it’s hard not to reflect on the real-life rollercoaster we’ve all been riding over the last few years!

Over 2 years, it breaks my heart to say we’ve only been “open” & dancing in studio for less than 30 weeks! Yet in those weeks, I’ve never felt so liberated, so passionate & so “at home”… & it’s all because of YOU - my amazing Little Dance Community!
