Thank you to TasSwing for the fantastic weekend of dancing at the Winter Swing Festival 2022! Featuring the dinner dance at the Australian Italian Club Hobart and a social dance with the great Southern Lights Big Band as well as some amazing classes by Noni Healy and Jarrod Bates.

Please be advised that tomorrow's class (Wed 15th) will be SwingMania's last class before we head into our Christmas break. Why not wear something a bit festive and we will have a little celebration!

Also a reminder of new Covid protocols:
As our classes are held at Devil's Door which is classified as a bar, pease ensure you have your proof of vaccination on you, either through the Check In TAS app, electronic 'e.g apple wallet', or paper.
Thank you everyone for filling out the anonymous vaccination survey in class, it helped us understand how this change could have impacted our scene.

SwingMania's performance troupe had a great time performing for the Yemaya Women's Support Services 30th Anniversary event.

It's that time again! This week we are starting a brand new block of classes!
This is the perfect time to come back to swing after a break or bring a friend.
We will be teaching you the 8-beat basic footwork plus some great little moves to get you up and grooving!

Dancing this week: Swingouts! This week in classes we will be learning the most iconic Lindy Hop move, the swingout. Come join us on Wednesday night and have some fun! Check out the video below for some fantastic swingout inspiration as well.
Wednesday 6:30pm Foundations: 8 beat Lindy Hop –We’ll be going over the swingout step by step, focusing on each part of the move separately so you can put it all together. Beginners welcome!
7:15pm Social dancing: Get out on the dance floor and practice what you’ve learnt, or just enjoy the music!
7:45pm Tips and Tricks: 8 beat moves – We're levelling up our swing outs with some tips and tricks tailored specifically to you. Suitable if this is your first night of swing outs or your hundredth!

Wednesday is dance day! Everyone is welcome to join us for classes at the LNUC hall tonight:
6:30pm Foundations: 8 beat Lindy Hop – Building on the basic 8 beat steps from last week, we’ll recap the Lindy Circle and work on some smooth moves to get you dancing between open and closed.
7:15pm Social dancing: Get out on the dance floor and practice what you’ve learnt, or just enjoy the music 🎶
7:45pm Tips and Tricks: 8 beat moves – Tonight we’re teaching a super-sweet move called the sugar push! A nice little break you can use to mix up your basics or pop into a routine. Anyone who has done a class or two of 8 beat steps before is invited to come along 😊
