*SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT*
We are returning very soon! I'm so excited to share my love of horses with you all again.
I can't wait to see you again and hopefully a lot of new faces too! πβ€οΈ
It's not "Goodbye" It's "I'll be back".
With so much going on in my life since the February Flood and the cost of living (and horses) I have decided to put my business on hold for a while.
I want to concentrate more on my horse and my riding.
I lost alot in the floods and I need to work more with my main job.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey.
It is still my dream to have my riding school. I will get back on track eventually.
Thank you ππ΄
What's better than a Pony Party? Absolutely nothing! π π₯³π΄
I love seeing these smiles!
Thanks for choosing us!
Lesson will start up again on the 21st March.
Unfortunately I've lost my home, all my belongings and a couple of saddles and all my grooming equipment.

As a follow on to Chase's laminitis story...
Chase and I have an incredibly strong bond, it's almost like we know what each other are thinking and feeling.
He is one of my bestfriends and when we arrived home to NR I couldn't help but feeling all the pain he went through during the hardest time of his life and how sad I felt that I wasn't there for him.
It took me a few weeks but I eventually stopped feeling guilty and started feeling so greatful that we found our way back to each other π₯°π΄
Let's talk laminitis... (it's that time of year)
The rain is falling and the grass is on steroids! ππ¬
WHAT IS LAMINITIS?
Laminitis (also termed founder) is inflammation of the laminae of the foot β the soft tissue structures that attach the coffin or pedal bone of the foot to the hoof wall. The inflammation and damage to the laminae causes extreme pain and leads to instability of the coffin bone in the hoof. In more severe cases it can lead to complete separation of and rotation of the pedal bone within the hoof wall.
Laminitis is a crippling condition which can be fatal in severe cases. Once a horse has had an episode of laminitis, they are particularly susceptible to future episodes. Laminitis can be managed but not cured which is why prevention is so important.
Chase left me for 2 years on a free lease after I had my second Child.
Unfortunately due to drought then huge rain resulting in lots of grass growth with high sugar content he ended up having an acute laminitic episode.
On top of this he ended up with White line disease.
WHAT IS WHITE LINE DISEASE?
Simply put, it is the separation between the wall of the hoof and the sole of the hoof where bacteria and/or fungus can reside and eat away at the hoof.
Chase had 3 hooves rebuilt and was transported back to me when he was well enough to travel after his lease owner suddenly passed away.
When we arrived back to the Northern Rivers I couldn't stop crying.
It has been a huge journey for every one involved in his treatment and recovery. Farriers, vet and natural therapists (acupuncture, osteo, Iridology, homeopathy and kinesiology) and I cannot thank each of them enough.
We still have a long road of recovery and it will be a forever condition that will require management. (Not to mention all the vitamins and supplements I have him on)
Chase could not weight bare at the start of this and now he is cantering and bucking around the paddock.
He is now in light work and is improving more each day.
This has been a very new experience for me and Chase. We are both learning the new life after these ailments.
A few pics of our journey π₯°ππ΄

Leah's Little Horse - Riding and experience packages added a View Shop button to their Page.
Horse riding isn't about sitting on a horse and controlling it.
It is about connecting your mind aswell as your body and allowing yourself to step into the present. π₯°π΄

"Donβt complicate it.
There was a time when you were just happy to ride, happy to be in the company of horses.
It didnβt matter if you could execute a perfect shoulder in, or jump double clear round 1.20 tracks.
You were just happy to have two feet in the stirrups and ears leading the way.
You didnβt care about having the best tack, branded breeches & tailored boots. An old jumper, your favourite jods, and colourful chaps did the job just fine.
You didnβt spend the days between Christmas and New Year planning a heavy schedule of training sessions, clinics and competitions.
You threw tinsel round your ponyβs neck and went hacking with friends. The new year was just another 365 days to go riding.
Donβt forget that you started this sport because you loved the animal.
You loved the rush of galloping across open fields as much as the serenity of watching a horse graze quietly in the sun. The tickle of whiskers. The crunch of a carrot. The clop of hooves.
You do this because there is nothing on this earth that makes you feel more alive than being on the back of a horse.
So donβt complicate it."

There is nothing quite like teaching kids how to ride. I love that I get to be apart of this journey with them. π
I have limited spots available so if this is something you've been thinking about doing please book in now. ππ΄
Haven't been on a horse in a long time?
Did motherhood give you this new found fear about riding? πββοΈ
After I had my kids my confidence for riding was gone (even though I rode while I was pregnant).
I can help you gain your confidence and give you an hour kid free πππ΄

FOR YOUR HORSES SAKE
When you walk into the stable
Donβt try to show whoβs boss
Your horse wonβt understand you
And heβll be at a loss
Instead, just go and rub his head
Be kind, and furthermore
When you walk into the stable
Leave your ego at the door.
When you walk into the paddock
You must go to your horse
Donβt think that he should come to you
Donβt chase or yell or force
Just take some feed to catch him
In this thereβs no debate
When you walk into the paddock
Leave your ego at the gate
Every time you ride your horse
Think before you ask
Make it easy, always question
If heβs ready for the task
And when you have a problem
Donβt throw your weight around
Every time you ride your horse
Leave your ego on the ground
Every time youβre with your horse
Show him kindness first
Be nice and friendly always
And never think the worst
Itβs sometimes not that easy
To know whatβs in his mind
But every time youβre with your horse
Leave your ego far behind

I find teaching my own kids harder than other kids but I feel so incredibly proud of Fynn. This was his very first time riding by himself. I know from now I will step back more and let him guide his lessons more. His confidence will get better each time he steps out of his comfort zone.
We'll be out riding together before I know it! π
