BMFNC Past Players

The Club is thrilled to have on board Vixen’s goaler Ruby Barkmeyer and Vixen’s training partner and defender Maggie Caris to guide our Pre-Christmas training program.

Ruby has represented Victoria on many occasions through her Junior years and also been a part of the Australian U/21 World Youth Cup squad. She is keen to work with our Cobras girls to develop their craft and love of the game!

Maggie has also competed at the highest levels of representative netball through her development years, having played for Victoria in 2020 & 2021 and been a member of the Australian Squad in those years. Maggie is passionate about netball and the role it plays to provide balance between work, study and family life.

Commencing on November 29 Ruby and Maggie will be conducting our weekly Pre-Christmas training sessions each Wednesday at 6pm. They will also co-ordinate a 2nd session each week in the lead up to Christmas and guide the club leadership in developing a modern training regime to see our girls develop their potential within our club.

This is a great opportunity for our netballers to learn from the best and is available for all current, returning and new players who want to be a part of the Cobra family in 2024. At this stage the program is designed for all Senior, U’19 and U’17 girls. Any inquiries can be directed to Bernie Walsh on 0450 678 182.

After a solid win against Ballarat Swans last Sunday (66-0), the 16s have secured their place in the Grand Final at MARS Stadium in two weeks time.

Damo and the girls have worked hard all season and given each game their all to get to where they are and it has certainly paid off, especially with this playing group having back to back grand final appearances 💪

This past weekend wrapped up the BFLW Home and Away Season! It was a great fight by all teams and awesome wins from our 16s and 19s!

SATURDAY RESULTS 🐍

Plenty of tough contests on Saturday as we hosted Melton FNC on a gloomy day at Maddingley Park.

Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers who continue to provide amazing support to our Senior Men’s Football and Senior Netball teams!

There were some fantastic contests throughout the day with our U/19 Netballers taking some points for the second time this season with the game ending in a tie. Close games in both D Grade and B Grade narrowly went to the Bloods but overall it was a competitive day for our Cobra girls on the court!

In the football, the Under 19s took it up to the Bloods but ran out of legs late, while some missed opportunities cost the Reserves a chance to cause an upset going down by 46 points.

The Seniors were brave with our young group taking it up to the powerhouse Bloods for most of the game, and even won the last quarter which shows we are on the right track and just need to stay the course!

Club legend Lauren Prout will play her 400th Netball game for the Cobras this weekend against North Ballarat!

Loz has held almost every imaginable position within our Netball ranks including:
Player, Coach, Coordinator, Captain, Premiership Player, B&F Winner, Team of the Era member, Life Member, Netball Games Record Holder and now 400 game player!

A true Cobra who comes into her own the tougher it gets! We could not be prouder of Loz’s achievement and are extremely grateful for the years of brilliant service she has given our great club.

We look forward to celebrating this extremely significant and rare achievement as a whole club on Saturday!

An inside midfielder with the ability to go forward and kick goals, Max is making the jump from Under 19 footy into the Senior ranks this season.

A massive congratulations to Bacchus Marsh Cobras' own Elise Cook on making Team Vic in the Australian Football Championships for Girls 15 Years and Under.

The Game will be played this Sunday 21st November at Sandringham and will be Live Streamed at the Cobra Juniors Presentation Day.

SENIOR WOMEN’S COACH 🐍

We are seeking applications for the role of Senior Women’s Football Coach.

We are looking for someone who can further improve, teach and encourage our senior women footballers to success alongside having a welcoming & positive demeanour.

REQUIRED OF THE ROLE:
1. Obtain a Level 1 Foundation coaching accreditation (If a first time coach)
2. Training 2 sessions a week (Tues/Thurs) with games predominately on Sunday.

GOALS OF THE ROLE:
1. Continue to build the welcoming and friendly team environment
2. Continue to develop and improve all the skill levels across the team
3. Have a high level of player retention
4. Create a level of professionalism and respect for the team on par with the other senior teams of the club.
