Yesterday was WORLD DIABETES DAY! 👣✨

Did you know that proper foot are is essential for those who have diabetes ?
Over time, diabetes may cause nerve damage that can cause tingling and pain, and can make you lose feeling in your feet. When you lose feeling in your feet, you may not feel a pebble inside your sock or a blister on your foot for example, which can lead to cuts and sores which can then become infected.
Diabetes can lower the amount of blood flow in your feet. Not having enough blood flowing to your legs and feet can make it hard for a sore or infection to heal.

It's important to regularly check your feet! 👣👣

How was your weekend ? Did you strap on your dancing shoes ?

While wearing heels is not an ideal footwear solution, most tend to go by the 80:20 rule !

Basically, for majority of the time that you are on your feet, working, walking, exercising and going about your every day life it's important to wear good, comfortable and supportive shoes ! Allowing you to walk around easily and pain free !

The other 20% of the time is for wearing special shoes for occassions such as heels or shoes you know you can only wear for a short period of time.

The main take away is to ensure that you are comfortable and safe with your footwear.

AND DONT FORGET TO HAVE FUN ! 👣

BLISTERS ! 🥺
Blisters occur when the foot is subjected to excessive friction or pressure, such as with ill-fitting footwear or when there is grit inside your shoes.
They also form more easily when the skin is moist, so keeping your feet clean and dry also helps to keep blisters at bay !

TOP TIPS TO AVOID BLISTERS:
-Choose footwear that fits your feet well
-wear moisture wicking socks
