Another Year, Another Adventure!
As I celebrate another trip around the sun, I'm reminded of this beautiful quote by Abraham Lincoln: "In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years."
Today, I'm not just adding another year to my age; I'm adding more experiences, more laughter, and more unforgettable moments to my journey. Each year is a new chapter, a fresh canvas waiting to be painted with beautiful memories.
Let's make each day a masterpiece, full of passion, purpose, and positivity! Don't just exist, thrive! Live your life with enthusiasm, kindness, and love.
Here's to cherishing every sunrise and dancing under every moonlight. Let's make our years vibrant and meaningful, so we can look back and say, "I truly lived."
Exploring Body Art Therapy 🎨
Have you ever wondered how the ancient practice of body painting can bring harmony to our fast-paced, digital lives? Welcome to the world of Body Art Therapy!
What is Body Art Therapy?
Body Art Therapy is an innovative approach that uses body painting for therapeutic and preventive purposes. It's about reconnecting with your inner self, your identity, and your primal essence, as well as forging deeper connections with others and with nature in our modern society.
The Creative Process
Clients can choose to paint their entire body or focus on specific areas like hands or the face. They can create art by themselves or engage in a therapeutic dialogue with a trained therapist. Sometimes, it's accompanied by deep conversations, and at other times, the art speaks for itself.
The Healing Power
While scientific evidence is still emerging, related research suggests that Body Art Therapy has a positive impact on various aspects of well-being. It's a gentle way to foster body awareness, self-esteem, self-efficacy, and empathy, among many other benefits.
Body Art Therapy can be applied in a wide range of fields, from therapy and counselling to education, special needs support, and more. It's a beautiful way to connect with our bodies, our essence, and the world around us.
Unleash Your Inner Artist
If you're ready to dive into self-discovery, healing, or simply eager for an extraordinary way to connect with others, join our next Body Art Therapy workshop for a creative and meaningful experience.
Art possesses the extraordinary ability to transmute our innermost emotions into tangible, captivating expressions.
Art therapy is a journey of self-discovery and emotional well-being:
1️⃣ Express Feelings: Use colors, shapes, and textures to convey emotions that words cannot capture.
2️⃣ Release Stress: Painting, drawing, or sculpting can be a therapeutic release for pent-up tension.
3️⃣ Boost Confidence: Witness the beauty of your creations and build self-esteem.
4️⃣ Mindful Focus: Art therapy fosters mindfulness, bringing you into the present moment.
5️⃣ Heal from Within: Explore your inner world and find solace through creative expression.
"
"The creative process is a process of surrender, not control."
These words hold a universe of wisdom within them.
Creativity is a journey that often surprises us with unexpected twists and turns. It's in those moments of surrender that magic happens—when we release the need to rigidly dictate outcomes and instead, let inspiration guide us.
Just like a river finds its way through the landscape, our creative ideas meander and merge, forming something beautiful and unique. When we relinquish the need for total control, we open ourselves to the serendipity of artistry.
Embrace Your Inner Artist 🎨
Creativity is the vibrant thread that weaves through every corner of our lives. It's the spark that ignites our passions and transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Whether you're painting on canvas, composing music, crafting stories, or finding innovative solutions, your unique creative energy has the power to shape the world around you.
Take a moment today to honour your creativity. Pick up a pen, a piece of clay, grab your favourite instrument, or simply let your imagination run wild. Let your inner artist breathe, and watch as the colours of your creativity dance across the canvas of life.
We have a lot of dreams, but they remain dreams if we don’t take action, even it’s a baby step.
Yesterday I received a message from a client I supported earlier this year about designing her vision board. The magic happened. Putting her dreams on the vision board, saying YES and taking ACTION miraculously brought results that she celebrates every day.
Welcome to Mother Earth Day!
It feels almost cynical to write this text, while year after year politicians value economic success more than a healthy earth. There is a big gap between mind and behaviour.
But what can we do individually? In any case, stay tuned. Stay and become creative. Tirelessly learn and rethink, support and get carried away and sometimes despair and still carry on.
"Creativity" is not a thing, but an act. It is a synonym for lateral thinking that qualifies you to constantly break through schematic constellations of experiences. Applied lateral thinking requires curiosity and enthusiasm, as well as the joy of allowing and experiencing the contradiction, so that a decisive change of perspective can occur. A "school of wonder" is therefore desirable, in which we tie in with the originality of childish questions and wonder, and allow something of our authentic genius, naivety, openness and imagination within us. We humans can only be educated, as the physicist and educator Martin Wagenschein aptly writes, "through an encounter that grips him, to which he devotes himself ,and which then moves him to grasp and understand".
“I have always been in love with the forests. There is something about ancient trees that rouses deep passions in those that care.” (Jane Goodall)
Oh yes, I totally agree with Jane Goodall. Every time I start a new sculpture, I thank the tree that had to be felled or that fell victim to the wind, and it is always an honour to be able to breathe new life into it.
When I moved to Melbourne three and a half years ago, I didn't take much with me. But this picture that my daughter drew for my 30th birthday had to be in my luggage.
It reminds me every day how important it is to support children in their very own playful creativity and to offer them the most diverse possibilities of expression.
The development of our creative thinking skills is widely accepted as being a key 21st century skill. Our world is rapidly changing and the skills to be able to adapt and innovate are increasingly important. Being creative is beneficial for our sense of well-being and mental health. This is true for everyone, children, and adults.
We're all born to be creative. It's a necessary and innate ability, with an evolutionary basis that natural selection has favoured, to enable us to mix things up to stay on top of what life can throw at us. Like any ability, while we have a certain capacity, we can learn and improve them.
The first few weeks of the new year have passed far too quickly. Our workshop series starts in March and I'm looking forward to many beautiful and inspiring moments in our rooms of The Health Sanctuary.
...To say that something is ordinary is to say that it is of the kind that has made the biggest contribution to the formation of your most basic ideas." (Paul Valery)
What a luxury that we are blessed with the most beautiful national parks here in Victoria. We enjoyed the tranquility of the Otways for a few days, and I was completely mesmerised at encountering all the art that only nature can create.
When I'm feeling creatively stuck, I go for a walk. And when I then have the privilege of being accompanied by a child, it is all the more inspiring. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is the purest joy that anyone can experience.
Welcome to the magical time between the years. The "Rauhnaechte" are the transition days between the lunar year (354 days) and the solar year (365 days). Because these days do not exist in the lunar calendar, it is believed that during the 12 magical nights, the door to the "other world" is open and the forces of nature are suspended. But even if you are not spiritually or esoterically inclined, the Rauhnächte might be something for you.
The first Rauhnacht goes from midnight of December 24 to midnight of December 25, and the time ends with the midnight to 6 January.
During these 12 days (or nights) everything can happen. And everything has a meaning. Even your dreams, for example. The perfect time to design your vision board. Go for it!
Life in itself is an empty canvas; it becomes whatsoever you paint it.
You can paint misery, you can paint bliss. This freedom is your glory.
Go and paint the hell out of your picture frame. Make it beautiful!🤩
The creative path can be a bumpy one, testing our stores of resilience, confidence, patience, and faith.
But often, all we need are little prompts to keep going, small reminders that we can do it, encouragement that it will be worth it, and a few simple tools for getting back into flow.
Walking through nature with open eyes and always discovering the possibilities of new beginnings is the best way to overcome inner blockades.
I am so infinitely grateful and honoured to be the mother of this beautiful little girl who has grown into a wonderful young woman and given new life to the most adorable granddaughter ever.
Where to go with all this gratitude that you would like to share with the whole world!
And then I realized I could have left my clay at home. The natural clay deposits here in Victoria are amazing.
For the past few days we've been trying to hide the fact that it's not the best weather for camping. We spent five days at a beautiful secluded camp near Wilsons Promontory National Park, experienced heavy rains, storms, but also beautiful hours of sunshine.
I used the golden hour of sunrise for clay portrait sketches on the beach and the seed for the creative flow of the day was planted.
Get ready to become hooked.
Sculpting a portrait in clay is a very rewarding experience.
This course will explore how to observe faces and heads - how to see their differences and similiarities, and in turn learn how to translate this understanding into a sculpture.

As Abraham Lincoln used to say: “Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history.”
It catches up with us, even if it's an old chair hanging on a hook while fishing.

My daughter is a thoroughly artistic soul who celebrates her pregnancy in creative ways.
This is one of my most beloved quotes. As we walk the path of creativity, we discover more and more the inevitability of beauty that crosses our paths every day.
