🗞Monash University will now accept IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) scores❗️ It's important to note that IELTS One Skill Retake (General Training) exam scores are not currently accepted.

Here are the specific exam requirements:
🟣Each individual skill can be retaken only once and must be registered for and completed within 60 days.
🟣If the retaken score for any individual skill does not meet the requirements, the candidate will need to retake all four components of the exam.

💥The Treasurer delivered the Federal Budget on Tuesday 14 May 2024‼️

Key details announced:
🔹Immigration quotas revealed
The Government has set the 2024-25 permanent Migration Program planning level at 185,000 places and will allocate 132,200 places (around 70%) to the Skill stream.

🔹Closure of investment immigration
▪️Starting in late 2024, Subclass 858 under the Global Talent Independent (GTI) program will be replaced by a new category!
▪️The 188 Business Innovation and Investment Visa Program (BIIP) will be closed from September 2024!
▪️As of 23 November 2024, the Australian government will also reduce the work experience requirement for subclass 482 visas from 2 years to 1 year.

🔹Set new international enrolment cap

🔹Improvements in aged care and childcare worker benefits

🔹Tax cuts
According to official forecasts, the average tax cut for 2024-25 is estimated to be around AUD 1888.

🔹Student debt
About AUD 3 billion in HECS-HELP loan debts will be waived.

🔹Housing and energy subsidies
The government will introduce more solutions to address long-term housing shortages.

🇦🇺🎓The Australian Immigration Service announced that starting from May 10, 2024, the financial proof requirements for Australian student and student guardian visa applicants will increase

This time the requirement for the financial capacity has increased by as much as 21%❗️ Specific adjustments are as follows:
🔹Primary applicant: AUD 24,505 increased to AUD 29,710
🔸Spouse or de facto partner of the student primary applicant (not applicable to student guardian applicants): AUD 8,574 increased to AUD 10,394
🔹Dependent children: AUD 3,670 rising to AUD 4,449
🔸Annual school fees: AUD 9,661 rising to AUD 13,502
🔹Personal annual income (no family members): AUD 72,465 rising to AUD 87,856
🔸Personal annual income (with family members): AUD 84,543 rising to AUD 102,500

📃🌏The Expression of Interest (EOI) scoring system is undergoing its first overhaul since 2021, with a greater emphasis on the relevance of technical work to successful immigration.

👤The Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) has outlined potential directions for reforming the scoring system, including:
🟡Relative weighting of work experience in Australia and offshore
🟣Dealing effectively with age requirements
🟠Recognizing the potential contributions to be made by accompanying spouses.

Currently, the Australian Department of Immigration is soliciting opinions on the reform of the EOI scoring system. ⏰Reviews must be submitted by May 24th, 5 pm❗️

📣🇦🇺Significant Update to Subclass 485: New policy effective from July 1, 2024‼️

👀Key changes are as follows:

🔹GWS stream
- The GWS will officially be renamed "Post-Vocational Education Work stream".
- The age requirement for applications will be reduced to 35 years or younger (it is currently unknown whether being under 36 years old is included).

🔸PSW stream
- The PSW will officially be renamed "Post-Higher Education Work stream".
- The age requirement for applications will be reduced to 35 years or younger (it is currently unknown whether being under 36 years old is included).
- The age requirement for applicants holding a British National Overseas (BNO) passport from Hong Kong and the UK remains at 50 years old.
- The policy allowing an additional 2-year extension for designated courses will be abolished.

🔹Second PSW stream
- The PSW - Second Visa will officially be renamed "Second Post-Higher Education Work stream".

🔸Replacement stream
- This category of Visa will cease!

⚡️Students Visa English Language Requirement Changes Implemented after March 23 (this Saturday)❗️❗️❗️

🔹The English proficiency requirement for student visas (for higher education and VET main courses) has been increased, with the minimum IELTS requirement raised from 5.5 to 6 (or equivalent).
🔹For main courses accompanied by ELICOS courses, the minimum IELTS requirement has been increased from 4.5 to 5 (or equivalent).
🔹The minimum IELTS requirement for ELICOS courses only remains unchanged.
🔹For foundation and pathway programs, the minimum IELTS requirement for students has been increased to 5.5 (or equivalent).

📣Student Visa Reform: The Genuine Student Test (GS) is Set to Officially Take Effect! 📋GS Replaces 300-Word GTE Statements!

📌According to the "Immigration Strategy" plan released on December 11, 2023, the Australian government will replace the existing Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement with the Genuine Student Test (GS) requirement:
🔸The GS requirement is scheduled to be implemented for applications submitted on or after March 23, 2024.
🔸Student visa applications submitted before March 23, 2024, will be assessed under the current arrangements (GTE).
🔸Student Guardian visa applicants will retain the GTE requirement.
