Another fabulous day of AATBD Inc. competitions at Trophy Day today.
We are so incredibly proud of all of our students who participated in the troupe competitions and Shields.
A very special congratulations to our Wednesday Sub Juniors for winning 2nd place in the 7 & under section!! 🤩🤩
Well done to Rachel Alwyn who achieved her Senior Theatrical Shield today with two amazing solos! 🤩
And finally a huge well done to our Young Seniors / Seniors troupe for achieving an Honourable Mention in the 16 & Under section. 🤩

What a day! Last Sunday was one of the biggest Ballerina and Own Choreography Days the AATBD has had for quite a few years.
An absolutely huge congratulations to the following students:
Sia Rizzo🤩: Winning 1st Place in Fairy Ballerina out of 27
Zoe Belton🤩: Winning a Special Mention in Fairy Ballerina out of 27
Keeley McMahon🤩: Winning 1st Place in 10 & Under 12 Tap Own Choreography
A special well done to all of our Fairy Ballerinas for entering their very first competition and dancing their absolute heart out on stage. It was so beautiful to see. 😍😍
Well done to all of our amazing choreographers who entered Own Choreography. Keep up the good work! 😃

A huge congratulations to all students on their excellent AATBD exam results achieved over June/July. The school received 100% Honours in all examinations: Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Theatrical.
Amazing effort everyone!
An extra special congratulations to Rachel Alwyn, Nicole Wood, Stephanie Clifford and Zach Rogers for achieving their Advanced Jazz Diploma this year, all with High Honours. An absolutely incredible effort!
Certificates, crits and medals will be handed out in class by the end of this week!

This week we said a very sad goodbye to the very much loved Jean Jones, my nan, Jeanette's mum, and a huge part of our dance school and it's history.
Mrs Jones, who helped run the Duttons Dancing School for many decades, was a huge inspiration to hundreds of students over the years, teaching tots through to seniors, as well as designing and creating many costumes and hats for our end of year concerts and was still helping to create hats and accessories during the Art Evolutions Dance School days.
Mrs Jones received so much joy watching the dance performances on stage, with hugely colourful, sparkling costumes and the happy faces on all of the students. She remembered so many of you (even those who danced in the 70s/80s/90s) even in recent years when we chatted about the past, and she loved you all so much.
Nan passed away peacefully, on Monday 6th May, at 93 years of age, surrounded by family.

What a performance!
I’m still blown away by the amazing effort from our students on 2nd December. Each and everyone of you should be very proud of yourselves for putting on such a fabulous performance.
The improvement we’ve seen this year with all of our students has been incredible!

Congratulations to all of our fabulous students (and their very supportive families) for an amazing performance at the Chelsea Heights Primary Fete on March 25th.
We are so so proud of you all for getting up on a very unfamiliar stage and absolutely smashing your performances! 🤩🤩
The students, their families, teachers and I had such a blast at this incredibly well set-up fete! We are hoping to do more of this in the future, it was so much fun! 🥳

It's time to get moving! 😍
READY SET DANCE is a one hour combo class of JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP, SINGING and MUSIC and a whole lot of fun!
The program caters for boys and girls, 2-5 years of age.
JAZZ – Develop muscle strength, control and balance and achieve coordination milestones like skipping before going to school.
HIP HOP – Bust out some ice cold moves just like Freeze to our original hip hop tracks.
MUSIC. – Develop the musical ear, dynamics and tempo while having fun with instruments and the parachute.
SINGING – Sing like Twirl and build confidence singing like a star.
TAP – Learn the fundamentals of tap in a playful and creative way splashing in puddles and shuffling like a penguin.
All these ingredients together create a super hour of fun!
