I wanted to bring the impact of social media and self image to light - Using my own experience of my personal growth as an example. The left is a very insecure girl trying to fit in with society expectations, the heavy fake tan, the overfilled lips, the heavy makeup and coloured hair to feel like I would fit in- the right is a woman who loves herself within her own skin, is comfortable in what she brings to the table as a person and realises no matter how much you try to change yourself you will always feel the same way unless you do your inner work of self love.

Lately I have been noticing my consultations with clients have been focused on helping the client to realise how incredibly beautiful they naturally are and trying to change the image they have of themselves in their head. So many women and men have this idea of what they think is beautiful or handsome created by fake social media posts and lifestyles. Recently I had a 19 year old girl come and see me for a consultation, she had been quoted 2.5k worth of filler to ‘fix’ her face and give her the ‘influencer’ look. I was so disappointed that this particular company (who are quite popular on social media) had picked on every insecurity this young girl had and instead of helping them to enhance their natural beauty had completely destroyed her self image and made her think she needed all this work. I sat with this girl for a whole hour and hyped her self confidence back up and explained to her how social media can completely destroy our perspective of what is beauty. I ended up turning her away for any form of filler and at the end she didn’t want any.

We need to be better as injectors, we must maintain our values and morals and not be led by greed. Less is more, and we are perfect as we are - injectables are there to enhance our natural beauty, not completely change our identity💗

PDO threads in action and coming very soon to our clinics!

What are they?

PDO threads are made up of an absorbable polydioxanone (PDO) barbed suture, indicated for use in soft tissue approximation. Threads are designed to be a minimally invase alternative to surgical facelift procedures!

How do they work?

We strategically place the barbed thread into the soft tissue, once anchored onto the saggy skin the thread is then molded into place. Over the next 8-10 weeks the threads increase collagen production and form a mesh of resistance within the skin structure. This leads to improved skin elasticity, skin texture, volume and fine lines!

1. Fern technique to correct peri oral lines
2. Fill in philtrum columns to restore flattening
3. Correct lower lip deficit and create a more even appearance
