Yep a good nights sleep can sometimes be hard to come by but it’s essential for your overall health and well-being.
Here are some ways to improve your sleep:
🛌 Create a comfortable sleep environment that you love. Invest in a comfortable mattress, pillows, and bedding thats inviting.
🛌 Establish a bedtime routine: Engage in relaxing activities before bed to signal to your body that it's time to sleep. This can include reading a book, taking a warm bath, practicing relaxation exercises, or listening to calming music.
🛌 Try to stick to a consistent sleep schedule: Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends, helps regulate your body's internal clock and promotes better sleep quality. Everyone’s different for me I love nothing more than getting up early and smashing out either me exercise or my chores for the day.
🛌 Create a sleep-friendly environment: Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool.
🛌 Limit exposure to electronic devices: The blue light emitted by smartphones, tablets, and computers can interfere with your sleep. Avoid using electronic devices for at least a couple of hours before bed or use blue light-blocking glasses/screen filters.
🛌 Avoid stimulating substances: Limit or avoid the consumption of caffeine, ni****ne, and alcohol, especially close to bedtime. These substances can disrupt your sleep patterns and make it harder to fall asleep or stay asleep. I used to enjoy the occasional glass or 2 of red wine 🍷 but it would always wake me up about 3am 🕒🙈
🛌 Exercise regularly: Engaging in regular physical activity can improve sleep quality. However, try to finish your workout at least a few hours before bedtime, as exercising too close to bedtime can have a stimulating effect which may keep you awake.
🛌 Manage stress: not always easy I know, however stress and anxiety can interfere with sleep. Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or mindfulness exercises to help calm your mind before bed. You can also try journaling or engaging in activities that help you unwind.
