Born and raised in Korea, Oppa Kevin came to Australia and decided to put down his roots here. In Melbourne, he created a home with his wife and daughter, and his mission is to create a home-away-from-home for the local Koreans too - so he's made Gukbab one of the most soulful Korean family food in Melbourne.
As a father and a husband, Oppa Kevin is the most hardworking chef we know because he is firing away in the Gukbab kitchen 7 days a week! Oppa Kevin prides himself on his homemade recipes featured throughout Gukbab’s menu, it reminds him of his mum’s authentic home cooking. Each dish is carefully prepared to honour the Korean traditional family flavours with ingredients he could source in Australia. Oppa wishes for Melbournians to experience the true taste of his upbringing and let his mum's soulful food comfort them!
