Tragic deaths, refugee escape that has shaped Cats VFL hopeful 18/01/2024

Ajang Kuol mun was born in a Kenyan refugee camp. His brother never made it out. His family fled his wartorn homeland of South Sudan for Australia in 2007.

After crossing from soccer and producing a stellar first season of senior local football for Anakie Football & Netball Club in the Geelong & District Football Netball League, Ajang is now training with Geelong's Victorian Football League (VFL) side.

Ajang's football story hopefully has many great chapters left. He opens up on the trageides and struggles that have shaped him in this terrific piece by Dan Batten for the Herald Sun (subscriber content) 🔗👇

In the week of the AFL Draft, thank you and well done to all volunteers 23/11/2023

For every player who makes it to the AFL, there have been on average more than 30 volunteer roles, over 400 people in those roles and more than 10,000 volunteer hours impact the player and help them through their football journey.

77 young men realised their dreams by finding homes on AFL lists for the first time this week and all of these players have a story on how they made it. For most, their journey in football started at their local Auskick centre or junior club, where volunteers are the heartbeat of the game.

An open letter to volunteers across Victoria from Head of AFL Victoria, Greg Madigan:
