I frequently tell clients that not everything can be achieved with a syringe. A multi modality approach to skin is required, not just treating muscles and volume loss. I would usually refer these treatments out, but moving to the new clinic has provided some extra space to bring them to us!..

We visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra in February. If you haven't been, you should, it’s incredible. It really left a mark on all of us. I'm obviously always drawn to the stories of Nurses in War. They played such a pivotal role, that's sometimes overlooked. .

TGA Changes (as per previous posts) 🤪 .
I've started to make the changes required to comply with the recent TGA announcement. .
We can no longer use words that imply the medication used to treat your aging concerns. The booking app has now changed to 'short appointment' and 'long appointment' with a little reminder of areas of the face we may target. Price lists have been removed to meet compliance...
If this confuses you, just contact me! .
The business name has changed to Fresh Face Cosmetic Clinic (removing the word Injectables). You can now book at www.freshfacecosmeticclinic.com. (Existing clients only) The new clinic signage is in production! .
The website, Facebook and IG pages require lots of work to remove all of the offending content. This will take some time over the coming weeks. .

A little update on my previous post. As expected yesterday, the TGA announced further changes on how Cosmetic Nurses and Drs can publicly communicate with patients. Just a couple of things that will impact this business
1. The word "Injectables" is no longer allowed in a business name, requiring me to change the business name I've had for almost 10 years. Yesterday, I registered "Fresh Face Cosmetic Clinic" and removed Injectables. This will require the changing of all of my signage (that went up 12 weeks ago 🙄), business cards, paperwork, etc
2. We can no longer use the words "anti wrinkle injection" or "dermal filler" in any capacity. This will mean booking online will now be called "shorter appointment" and "longer appointment."
3. Price lists are no longer allowed. Most of you have seen me for so long that you know your average spend. Please contact me if you're unsure of what to budget for
4. I'm awaiting some clarification about before and after photos, but it appears these may also be restricted. Going forward, I'm considering just shutting this platform down or opening a private patient only space.
As you can imagine, this is pretty stressful/lots of work. Some of these things will take some time to change, so if things get messy just look away 😆
I'm incredibly grateful to have a very loyal lovely group of patients that means I haven't seen a new person in many years. These changes will be painful for me but it will absolutely end some businesses trying to start out if they're unable to communicate/advertise/showcase their work effectively with patients. What a time to be alive 🤪

The TGA recently announced changes to the way Cosmetic Nurses and Doctors communicate when publicly discussing the treatments we provide. We're no longer allowed to use the words 'Anti wrinkle injection' or 'Dermal Filler' amongst others. These changes will be clarified and probably further extended in the coming weeks..
This makes it challenging to post on social media, and to be honest, at this point, it's sometimes easier not to. So if you see less of me on here or a post with very little information, this is why. Going forward, all previous posts containing these words will need to be changed, including the booking system. It's a big thing..
As I haven't seen new patients for 7 years I don't use this platform as a form of 'advertising' but rather a way to communicate and educate current patients. I will need to have a think about how to best do that now. So, long story short, I'm still here working my little hands to the bone, just publicly a little quieter.

It's been a huge year professionally and personally and I can't express how grateful I am to have shared the highs and lows with so many of you. Moving clinics was the biggest change Fresh Face has ever been through and I'm so happy that you love it as much as I do. The "wow, this is a bit flash" comments as you enter the clinic always make me laugh. Very flash for a bogan like me. 😆 .

I put up the clinic Christmas tree today, and I was reflecting on the past 12 months. It's been a year of the most amazing highs and lows. So much can change in such a short period of time, and I'm so grateful to be able to share these moments with you all..

In arguably the biggest thing to ever happen to Fresh Face...we're moving locations! 😲 .
Don't worry, it's only 8 minutes down the road to the "Soho" area of Point Cook. .
I'll miss my home of 8 years and especially my work girls, but I'm also really excited for the future and all the things we can achieve in our own little boutique space..

I've missed lots of the clinic Christmas parties over the years because they usually fall on my Birthday, and I go away. I promised the reception girls that I'd host Christmas in July to make up for my absence, but there would be a strict dress up policy. They really delivered. 😆 My goodness, we had a great night. Lower face treatments. .
The amazing .julie recently posted a great graphic that outlines the muscles of the lower face. 😍 I'm always trying to explain the importance of these muscles to you and this simplifies it. .
My beautiful client in the second pic has strong DAO's (orange muscles in Julie's graphic) that are pulling down and a Mentalis (green chin) that's pulling up. By treating these with a small amount of Anti wrinkle treatment we can smooth this area and help her down turned mouth. This pic is many years old and we've continued to treat it a couple of times a year and she's looking amazing. ❤️ .
It can be a little tricky for some, and has the risk of a wonky smile but I'll always warn you of this (sometimes too much 😆 ).

15 months ago I made the first price increase in 6 years....and now I've been forced to do a small increase again. ..
The cost of products, insurance, room rental and literally everything else in business continues to rise and unfortunately I can't absorb this...
I understand it's a financially difficult time for so many of us. If you have an upcoming appointment and these changes mean you wish to cancel, please let me know. Of course there's no judgement here! 😘

Yesterday AHPRA announced that from July, new guidelines will be in place to include a standardised mental health assessment, focusing on BDD
(Body Dysmorphic Disorder)
as part of your cosmetic injectable treatment. ..
As many of you know, I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and some days I feel I use these qualifications more than my Grad Dip in Cosmetic Nursing! .
Not much will change for us, I already have these conversations regularly but these changes will just mean it will be documented in a more formal manner..
Because I haven't taken on new clients in almost 5 years and see the same existing clients, I'm lucky to know you all quite well. This usually affords me the luxury of having really open, honest, conversations and this makes for a great holistic assessment. These relationships are a privilege I really cherish. You're more than a wrinkle on a face and more than 20 years of Nursing experience has taught me that the best treatment comes from considering all parts of your health.

I've finally decided to go fully paperless. 🙈 🤪 .
7 years ago I thought this little gig wouldn't really go anywhere and I'd just go back to working for someone else or back to the ward. Things just escalated and 3800 patients later, I'm swimming in paper. 📃 .
I've always felt too overwhelmed at the amount of work this change would involve but has worked her magic and we're getting it done. 💃 👏 .
Not much will change for you, probably just some occasional swearing at the ipad from me and I'll be slightly slower as I enter the 21st century. 😆 I'm proud of us!
