It's FRIDAY which is casual dress day at the Cranbourne office! This means each staff member donates $2 to a charity to dress in casual clothes every Friday. Over the weeks, this money is collected and we donate to a charity that is close to our hearts.

We are so happy to support Matt Young who is taking part in the 'Great Cycle Challenge', riding from Melbourne CBD to Adelaide CBD, raising funds for children's cancer research. With our staff donations, we were able to donate $1,035 to this worthy cause, and show Matt our support. We wish you all the best on your ride, Matt!

We’re excited to introduce Kevin - the newest addition to the Highview team as a Bookkeeper! With a rich background in Hospitality, Kevin turned the challenges of the Covid lockdowns into an opportunity for growth by earning his Masters in Accounting during this time. This dedication quickly paved the way for his successful transition into Bookkeeping.

Kevin is very excited about his upcoming travels. This year, he’s setting off on an adventure through China, Vietnam, and Cambodia—countries that hold significant family history for him. Cambodia, where he was born and where his parents still live, is especially dear to him. It’s been six years since his last visit, and he’s eager to reconnect with his roots.

An avid skier, Kevin just returned from a thrilling trip to New Zealand and is always on the lookout for new slopes to explore. His top ski destination so far is Japan, but he also makes an annual pilgrimage to Mount Hotham – which is just that little bit closer to home! Next on his skiing bucket-list is Canada and Europe!

Passionate about food, culture, and travel, Kevin speaks three languages and has a deep appreciation for fashion, especially sustainable clothing. He’s dedicated to reducing the impact of fast-fashion on our planet.

We’re delighted to have Kevin join our Highview family and look forward to the energy he brings!

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗘𝗟𝗬𝗔𝗦
Say hello to Elyas! We’re so excited to have him join us as a Graduate Accountant. Elyas completed University with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. He is incredibly proud of this achievement; being the second person in his family to graduate from University, alongside his sister. He’s also started working toward his CA (Chartered Accountant) certification, which he’s eager to finish in the next couple of years.

Before joining Highview, he was employed at Ernst & Young as an Audit Associate - a role that he loved. However, the decision to transition to Highview was a no-brainer, considering its proximity to home. The icing on the cake was hearing about the exceptional team culture awaiting him at Highview!

In his spare time, he enjoys watching & playing soccer. He is a mad FC Barcelona & Chelsea fan! Growing up in Afghanistan, soccer was the go-to sport among his mates, making it a perfect way to bond and stay active.

On weekends, Elyas enjoys treating himself to a big brekkie, catching a movie, or going for a drive. He loves taking day trips to the beach, with Sorrento and Kilcunda being two of his favourite spots to visit.

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗘
We’re thrilled to introduce Shantae – another new Graduate Accountant at Highview Cranbourne. As she wraps up her double degree in Business and Accounting, she’s been keen to kickstart her career in the Accounting world.

Before joining us, Shantae was juggling her studies full-time while also working part-time as the Assistant Manager and Head Barista at her dad’s café. Talk about multitasking! Although her schedule is jam-packed, Shantae, knows how to take a breather. She enjoys cozy sleep-ins, family card games (especially poker!), and squeezing in some gym time. She’s also quite crafty and loves tackling small projects, including the one thing that many of us tend to shy away from - putting together flat-packs!

With graduation just around the corner, Shantae has an exciting future ahead. She’s determined to work hard and dreams of owning her own investment property one day.

Let’s cheer on our new starters as they embark on this wonderful journey!

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗚

Let’s give a warm welcome to Meg - the newest member to join our Insurance Team. After finishing school, Meg moved to London for three years to pursue medicine, but realised it wasn’t right for her and made the decision to move back to Melbourne. She ended up working in Insurance for a couple of years - handling claims and commercial broking, before joining the team at Highview in June.

Meg loves watching and playing sport, but surfing is what she is most passionate about. She says nothing beats the feeling of loading up the car with surfboards and taking a road trip to Barwon Heads or Torquay for an early morning surf.

She combines her love of surfing with her love of travel. She is excitingly looking forward to a European surf adventure in 2025 with her partner, Ben. They’ve planned to visit some of the best places to catch some waves, including Nazaré in Portugal and La Graviere in France. They're also excited to visit Ireland, where her mother was born, and surf the Peak in Donegal. To top it all off, they'll be attending her cousin's wedding in Tuscany. Sounds like heaven!

But amidst all the adventure and excitement, there are a few simple pleasures that bring a smile to Meg's face. Engaging conversations about absolutely anything, indulging in cookies or chocolate, or spending time with her adorable newborn twin nephews - these are the moments that make her heart melt!

We are so glad to have you on board Meg!

The Highview Ringwood Team had an incredible time celebrating the end of the financial year in June! They rugged up and headed to the slopes at Mount Hotham for a fun-filled weekend, bringing along their families for even more shared memories.

Starting off the trip was a beautiful dinner at Alphütte, complete with open fire, snow covered terrace and standout gourmet pizza! With bellies full, the crew had an early night in preparation for a weekend of skiing.

The bluebird days were spent on the mountain at Dinner Plain where they enjoyed skiing and even a few snowball fights. They also enjoyed taking in the breathtaking beauty of the mountain with a long walk through the snow.

After a busy work year, this getaway was a welcome chance for everyone to unwind, spend quality time together, and create memorable moments. They can’t wait to do it all over again next year!

Last week, four of our Highview Crew battled it out in a Pickleball competition - “Pickleball for Pancare”.
 
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing participation sports in the world! Our team was thrilled to raise funds to support Australian families affected by upper gastrointestinal cancers, all whilst having a great time and enjoying some friendly rivalry with other corporate teams in this fun Pickleball showdown! The team also had their very own Highview cheer-squad on the side lines, cheering them on!
 
Although they didn’t snag first place, we are so proud of their involvement and their support of this cause, which is very close to our hearts. It is estimated that over 12,000 Australians will be diagnosed with an upper gastrointestinal cancer this year. Meet Anjie... the newest member of the Highview Prahran Crew! She’s recently joined us as an Administration Assistant, making the switch from another Accounting firm to seek new opportunities and further develop her skills.

Anjie lives in the Eastern suburbs with her husband and their fluffy Cavoodle, Cruz. On sunny days, you can find the trio enjoying the outdoors - visiting a local park, dining at a cafe or hiking. On the drearier days, they prefer to stay in, organise and clean the house, or simply chill out and binge-watch a TV series or movies.

Anjie is a big footy fan (go Collingwood!) and loves watching tennis. She's quite the jetsetter too - it always surprises people when they hear about her all her adventures. She has travelled the globe – everywhere from America to Asia to Europe. Her lifelong dream is to live in Europe for a year, basing herself in Greece on their recently purchased land, and then travel around Europe from there. Sounds heavenly!

Anjie brings with her a great sense of humour, kindness, and top-notch customer service experience to the team. We're excited to have Anjie on board and look forward to all the great service she has to offer our wonderful clients at the Prahran office.
