Established in 2008, we are located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Our beautiful, light filled pilates studios are equipped with the latest equipment, and our treatment rooms are spacious and private. We have on site change rooms for your convenience and always strive to run on time for your appointment. We’re your Melbourne Sports Physio clinic.
Have you met Kathryn our new clinical director yet? 🌟 came over from Viva Physiotherapy and as well as being a highly experienced, Master's trained physiotherapist, she's also a tutor on the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at the University of Melbourne and Master Trainer in Clinical Pilates at on behalf of here in Australia. As well as her clinical role at Flex, Kathryn will support Irwin in mentoring our clinical staff.
Today at 10am, Kathryn will be running an IG live session . It will be a clinical session for physiotherapists entitled "Using Pilates for functional Gluteal Muscle Engagement". While this is a session primarily target at clinicians, it's a good chance to see Kathryn in action!

As of Monday the 29th of April 2024, Flex will be located at Level 2, 406 Collins Street, Melbourne.
Our final day at 99 Queen Street will be Friday, 26th April. All appointments scheduled for Monday the 29th of April onwards will take place at our exciting new location on Collins Street, a short 2-minute walk from our current location.
(Please note: The clinic will be closing at 10:30am on Friday the 26th of April to allow us to pack and prepare for the move).
The fit out of our new space is progressing well, with Naomi & Kathryn’s beautiful vision gradually coming to life.

Congratulations to Naomi for completing the 2024 Run for the Kids last Sunday! 🏃🏼♀️⭐️
Naomi finished the 14.4km long course with a time of 1:07:47, coming in at number 112 out of 5097 women, and 10th in her age group. Such a fantastic effort for a great cause! 🤩

Towards the end of April our new address will be Level 2, 406 Collins Street, Melbourne. While we aren’t moving far (just a short 2 minute walk from our current location), the move means that we’ll be able to provide you with even better services including:
👉️ A completely redesigned clinic space dedicated to holistic health and an enhanced client experience.
👉️ New dedicated areas and class offerings to cater to all of your clinical Pilates, yoga, strength training and running needs.
👉️ New weight training and gym equipment, and an upgraded treadmill for running assessments and retraining.
In line with the larger range of services on offer, we’d also like to announce that our friends from Viva Physiotherapy will be joining us in our new space. We are thrilled to welcome our seven new team members; Kathryn, Georgia, Carlee, Bernice, Michael, Ilaria and Maddy, who all bring a wealth of clinical experience and unique skill sets with them.
Over the last four years, the directors of Flex and Viva, Naomi and Kathryn, formed a professional friendship. This started with mutual support during the COVID years between two like-minded physiotherapy practices and grew into a shared vision and aspiration about what we could achieve together. Flex and Viva share many philosophies and practices at their core and we see this merger as a great opportunity to do what we currently do, even better.
All appointments for our current Flex team up until our opening date will still take place at Level 1, 99 Queen Street Melbourne. Our team will be working hard to get everything ready for the move over the coming weeks and we appreciate all of your support and patience. We will be doing our best to ensure that there isn’t any disruption to your care over this period.
We will keep you updated as the new space is fitted out and will share photos of our progress along the way. As soon as we have our move in date confirmed we will share and celebrate this with you too.

A massive congratulations from the Flex Team, to our amazing client Jayden!
Earlier this month, Jayden completed 'The Coast to Coast - The Longest Day' event in the South Island of New Zealand. The Coast to Coast is one of the world’s longest multi-sports events and Jayden completed it in 16 hours and 16 minutes, covering 243km during the event!
Jayden showed great discipline, sticking to his demanding training plan in the lead up to the event and working closely with Irwin and Mariko from our team to manage his training related injuries, muscle soreness and tightness.

Congrats Ella!! 👏🥳🌟
Ella completed her Half Ironman on Sunday, with all her strenuous training paying off as she achieved her goal time of under six hours! A little wind on the day made for challenging conditions, but she pushed through to the finish line after a tiring half marathon to finish the triathlon. Some sore legs were felt on Monday and Tuesday, but she's already gearing up for the next Half Ironman challenge.

Ella is back with another of her favourite Pilates sequences - this time it's all about bridging! 🔥
A great movement for strengthening the glutes, hamstrings, and abdominals, and mobilising the spine ⭐️

1️⃣ DOUBLE LEG BRIDGE
✅ Great for working through glute max, as well as activating the hamstring and core muscles.
2️⃣ BUTTERFLY BRIDGE
✅ Increases the burn in the glutes by further loading the glute max and hip external rotator muscles.
3️⃣ SINGLE LEG BRIDGE
✅ Increases the challenge even more by focusing on one side, adding in the extra component of hip, pelvis and trunk stability.

Join Michael, our swimming superstar, for a muscle activation sequence - designed to be completed 10-15 minutes before you hit the water 🌊

1️⃣Pull aparts
💧This is a great exercise to switch on the rotator cuff muscles which are crucial in providing your shoulder with the best support for your strokes!
💧Complete 15 - 20 reps.

2️⃣Banded rows
💧A classic exercise for firing up the muscles in your mid back to form a foundation of support for your arms.
💧Ensure you squeeze the shoulder blades together when you pull backwards and then release the band before repeating up to 12 - 15 reps.
•
3️⃣Flutter kicks
💧An important exercise that engages the core, which is essential for maintaining overall stability in the water.
💧Repeat for up to 60 seconds.

4️⃣Half supermans
💧This final activation exercise is a great all rounder that helps to improve controlled spinal extension strength and glute activation, which is important for moving your legs in the water with control. 💧Repeat for 10 reps on each side.
