A planning application to build a broiler farm, next to the rail corridor where the rail trail is anticipated to run, has been lodged with the Central Goldfields Shire. If the planned facility goes ahead there will be a ‘bio-security zone’ declared around the broiler farm which could possibly limit or stop the use of about 1.5km of the rail trail in the Moolort Plains section.
CMRT are inviting people to lodge an objection to the broiler farm proposal.
