So what do we mean when we say “Natural-looking” results?
Well my intention is always to stay true to my patients’ natural features and simply make them look like their best selves rather than overly “done”.
In this first picture I am almost 30 years old and I have been working in aesthetic medicine for approximately 6 years. The second picture is one I took the other day after a long stint in clinic, I am now in my 19th year in aesthetic medicine. I definitely think I look older - it’s been 13 years! But I’ve prided myself on trying to keep my skin in the best condition possible, treating myself to regular, subtle treatments as a form of maintenance.
I’m very far from perfect, I’m just me. I hope I still look like me even if deep down I wouldn’t mind being closer to Margot Robbie 😆. I also think that even though it’s been 13years without the aid of skin treatments I wouldn’t have faired as well. I have many clients sharing similar sentiments about either looking the same or, often, better than they did 5-10yrs ago when they started their treatment journey.

Swipe left for a picture of me when I was 24ish. I had only had wrinkle reducing treatment once (a little heavy in the brow you may notice 😳). That’s my before (excuse the blush and eyebrows 🫣), I’m so old I can’t find a true adult before as it was before iPhones or social media 😉

We couldn’t get to our annual Mother’s Day classic walk today (first time we’ve missed it in a very long time!) but we signed up anyway to honour the memory of our beloved sister/daughter in law Mandie and my friend Dan 💗

An ANZAC day tradition in our house. I’m not much of a baker but my daughter, Róisín, loves it (and anything else even slightly creative for that matter😊).

They do a great job at school teaching the kids all about our ANZACs, the traditions and history, I learnt a lot more about them this morning listening to Róisín. Lest we forget 🌺 🔴⚫️

I am aware this statement does not at all relate to the before and after above.
* However, this is the phrase that has been suggested by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) as an alternative the terms we currently use, “anti-wrinkle injections” “dermal fillers” etc, which they have deemed no longer acceptable when describing treatments available on a public platform.
* This is in addition to restrictions brought in last year including the abolishment of emojis and the always dangerous selfie.
* This is problematic for the practitioners using this platform (and other social media pages, websites deemed as advertising) as referring to the products by their brand names has always been prohibited which is why here in Australia we’ve used these phrases.
* Obviously the above TGA suggestion is not an appropriate coverall phrase for what we do so it may result in some clunky, confusing posts for the next while as we navigate through this.

After starting 2024 spending time with family and friends, I am back in clinic tomorrow.

Celebrating my daughter Róisín’s 7th birthday in Mexico! She is the boss of our family and light of our lives. So special being over here for it! Feliz cumpleaños to my forever baby!

Volume deficit can occur as part of the ageing process but is also contributed to by weight loss. Patiently treating over a few sessions is typically the best way to treat this presentation.

**BIO-REMODELLING**
Due to pollution, stress, sun exposure and other toxins collagen production starts to decline at around 25-30 years of age, decreasing approximately 1-2% per year afterwards. Skin noticeably starts to lose its elasticity in your 30s to 40s.

Enough bad news, the good news is that we now have a new product available with one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid of any filler product. When injected into the top most layer of the skin over 2 sessions 1 month apart “liquid honey” stimulates the production of collagen and elastin seamlessly integrating into the tissues and tightening the skin at the same time.
