We wish our fellow South Sudanese people here in Australia, back home and around the world a happy 13th Independence Day anniversary. This is an important day to reflect on the past 13yrs and remain hopeful for future!!
Fantastic to see our diverse communities coming together yesterday to initiate dialogue on working together to address the issues affecting us all regardless of cultural or religious backgrounds. Well done by the team that is forming the 'South-Eastern Multicultural Community Network Victoria'.
Lest We Forget!
At my local ANZAC Day service this morning, I had the privilege of chatting with three gentlemen who have been directly impacted by wars. Two whose dad and grandfather respectively served Australia in World II including in PNG and the other was a soldier in his country of origin, South Sudan. Their emotions were still very raw which was a clear reminder of the painful experiences of war. The best way we can honour the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country is maintaining PEACE!!
We warmly welcome the appointment of H.E Monday Semaya Kumba as South Sudan Non-residential Ambassador to Australia. We look forward to working with the Ambassador in supporting our community in Australia and strengthening relationships between our two countries.
Ambassador Monday Kumba is currently touring Australia and below are flyers for his two events in Melbourne: Friday 15/03/24 in the West and Saturday 16/03/24 in the East.
Happy International Women's Day to you all amazing women!
We wish you all the best in all your important roles as mothers, sisters, wives, Aunties and leaders.
