At Select Smiles we believe everyone deserves their best smile and recently we announced the sponsorship of our patient and para triathlete Jack Howell as an example of our living this value.

We are very proud and excited to share with you that Jack has now been selected to compete in the upcoming World Championships being held at the end of this month in Abu Dhabi. This is a critical milestone for Jack as he seeks to qualify to compete at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Jack needs to fund his own way to the World Championships and needs to raise $4,000.00 to cover his costs. He has shared his fundraising page with the Australian Sports Foundation and we are calling on our broader Select Smiles community to help by contributing in our own small way. Remember, all donations are tax deductible.

By doing this, we can in our small way, make a big difference to Jack’s world and along the way make the world a better place, one smile at a time.

At Select Smiles, we believe everyone deserves their best smile. So, when our long-time patient and wonderful young man, Jack Howell approached us to support him pursue his dreams to represent Australia and compete at the next Paralympics to be held in Paris in 2024, we were happy to sign up on Team Jack and play a small role in helping him realise this lofty dream.

In March, Jack competed at the 2022 Oceania Triathlon Para Championships where he finished in second place despite having to recover from COVID in the days leading up to the event. He followed this up in April where he won the Australian Paratriathlon National Championships in a time of 54 minutes 28 seconds at just 18 years of age.

On the back of these results, Jack travelled to Europe and North America in June and July to compete against the world’s best para triathletes in 3 events which were conducted across France, Spain and Canada. Despite a tough start where Jack failed to finish the French event owing to 2 flat tyres on the bike stage and underlining his maturity and great spirit, he was able to regroup and finish with a bronze medal in Spain followed with a fourth place finish in Canada. As a result, Jack’s world ranking currently sits at 16.

We could not think of a more deserving person to throw our support behind and help Jack to realise his dreams of representing Australia and competing at the Paris Paralympics in 2024.

This fundraiser ensures the continuation of the MS Plus programs such as Plus Connect which provides guidance and support when needed, Plus Education and Plus Advisor service all helping people living with MS to maintain their quality of life, employment and delay disease progression.

- 23,283 people reached out to our Plus Connect team for meaningful advice and practical tools

- 6,178 people registered for an educational webinar
