Not a great week on the training front. It was quite an emotional week, impacting training, and also dealing with an endo flare-up, leading to missing a key endurance session over the weekend. ๐ฅ
On the flip side, it's times like this that make listening to the body so important, taking the rest where it's needed. ๐ง
On a positive note, my Sunday long ride on Zwift got me taking out Queen of the mountain and setting a new PB! ๐๐

On Tuesday night, Lisa ran a workshop with the Waverley Park Hawks. This focused on all things injury prevention, foam rolling and nutrition. Running both the boys and girls through a range of stretches and techniques to help reduce the risk of injury and build positive habits for their futures in sport. ๐๐

"Our Waverley Park Hawks teams are travelling along nicely in 2024 and have shown incredible dedication and resilience! We've witnessed some extraordinary performances and celebrated some outstanding and extraordinary milestones. We've faced tough opponents and navigated through various obstacles, but our collective spirit has remained unwavering. All our girls and boys are having a ball running around and enjoying their footy. Whilst weโve had an amazing start to the first half of the season with sunny Sundays, the cold weather has kicked in and the muddy shorts and rain-soaked games are back! Out of our 16 teams, we have 8 teams sitting in the top 4 of their respective division ladders and 3 teams sitting pretty at the top. Weโre looking forward to carrying this momentum into the second half of the season with lots more footy still to come and plenty more opportunities for growth and success! Go, Hawks"

GOLD COAST MARATHON UPDATE ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ
Ben finally completed the Gold Coast Marathon! His goal was to run a sub-2:45 marathon, but unfortunately, he came down with an illness five days before the race. Despite this setback, Ben decided to give his best effort to achieve this goal. However, at the 23km mark, he faced a stitch problem, and both of his quads began to seize up around 30km. Struggling to breathe, he realized his goal was out of reach.
Nevertheless, Ben is very proud to have finished his first marathon in 2:50:33 and ran as hard as he possibly could and left nothing out there.
Congratulations Ben on such an amazing accomplishment!๐ช
After 12 strong weeks of training, itโs finally time for Ben to achieve his goal! Today Ben will run in the Gold Coast Marathon!! Goodluck Ben ๐๐ช๐
We would like to wish Andy luck today for his Half Marathon today! Andy has snuck up to the Gold Coast to join Ben for a run in the sun โ๏ธ๐
