Sometimes automation does not work or could this be an opportunity to improve customer service? When people ask me about good mobile phone plans that are of reasonable quality, coverage and price I usually recommend ALDI Australia because in general they meet these standards. A true test of a business or service is how they respond when something goes wrong as this can become more important than a cheap service.

I am not sure if the automation was intentional in this instance but it is a reminder to make sure that any systems you put in place are working as expected. I placed a support ticket and had it responded to and closed within hours without allowing me to respond to it, the responses were automated and my case was closed without a resolution and definitely with a feeling of dissatisfaction and disappointment as an ALDI Australia customer.

I had an issue with my account where the auto renew feature did not work after I updated my credit card and I lost all of my rolled over data ( a feature I tell my customers about when I recommend this service) and when I put in a support ticket regarding this I was told that it is in their terms of service that when you change or update you payment method auto recharge is turned off and you will lose your rolled over data. (I am telling you this now so that you don't get disappointed when your card expires and you have to update it.)
So this is just a bit of a warning that you may not get what you think you are getting and sometimes when things go wrong you may not get the outcome you want. ALDI mobile is still a value option for phone services but when you go off menu the support and service may not be what you are hoping for. Idon't want my customers to be disappointed by something I have recommended without knowing the details.

David Cook – Trainer
David Cook from Frontier PC Tutoring has provided computer training and tech support to Melbourne’s outer east since 2000. David has been involved with computers and technology since the mid-1990s and has a passion for sharing his 20+ years of experience with others to help them live with technology and cope with change.

David completed his Bachelor of Education and Training in IT at The University of Melbourne in 2003 and Cert IV in workplace training after 19 years in Retail Management and he combines these skills with his natural patience to help people of all ages make friends with technology.

David gets involved in the communities he works in including serving as school council president, joining business network committees and even receiving a Quiet Achiever’s award for services to the local community.

David is looking forward to working with the community at every opportunity to help people maintain essential digital life skills.
