We’ve recently launched Perspectives—a series of conversations that highlight stories worth sharing.

One perspective we always celebrate is that of our Design Director, Larry Vila Pouca.

In addition to overseeing creative development and art direction at Seesaw, frequently contributes his talents behind the camera, bringing his uniquely sensitive and storytelling-led approach to capture portraits, environments and urban landscapes.

Established in 2017, .co is a range of hand-crafted candles and home fragrances made from the highest quality raw ingredients. We are shameless in our love for Bordan; the studio and our homes constantly have candles burning.

Seesaw strategically positioned the brand for relaunch, crafting a brand that clearly articulates the core values of care, quality, love and authenticity. The result was a new visual identity, packaging and art direction that embraced nature, modernity and simplicity.

You can view the full Bordan case study on our website. Link in bio.

ECHO.2 is the second Passivhaus development by . Designed by , this highly considered project will breathe life into a prominent Abbotsford site. In a nod to the community, this project celebrates the past, while showcasing the future of multi-residential Passivhaus in Australia.

Passivehaus was developed by European scientists in the early 1990s and today is the standard recognised by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as the most stringent for high-performance buildings. Passivhaus uses a rigorous approach to design, construct and testing within an applied building science framework. The benefits include superior thermal and acoustic comfort, excellent air quality and significantly reduced energy consumption. The result is a series of homes that are healthy, resilient and built to provide value for years to come.

For this second development in the ECHO series, Seesaw was engaged to strategically position and craft the brand for launch. The result is a brand that extends effortlessly from interactive hoarding through to marketing material and digital expression.

For MAB’s first property project in North Melbourne, Seesaw was engaged to create a master brand and positioning strategy that would support a multi-faceted development of contemporary apartments, luxury townhomes and community spaces, all located alongside a new primary school and social housing.

The name ‘Academy’ was developed with the positioning line, ‘Intelligent Living’ as a reference to the location in the city’s education precinct, as well as the project’s considered approach to architecture, community and sustainability.

Understated luxury. Masterful design. Rugs that lie lightly on this earth.

Created by Jodie Fried and Sally Pottharst, Armadillo is a designer brand driven by compassion, dedicated to philanthropy, and guided as much by ethics as by aesthetics.

Armadillo approached Seesaw to reposition and redesign the brand to align with its qualities of timelessness, heritage and handmade distinctiveness.

Last week was Sydney WorldPride, the iconic event that celebrates and promotes LGBTIQ+ communities on an international scale.

To support our community locally, we proudly work with . The VPC is the first purpose-built hub for Australia’s LGBTIQ+ communities. A place where everyone can come together, honour the past, celebrate the present, and work towards a more inclusive future.

The centre had been many years in the making, with an established brand identity when Seesaw was approached to create a campaign for launch. As part of our Design for Good initiative, the studio went beyond this initial brief to develop the brand’s strategic positioning and a comprehensive toolkit to best support the marketing team’s rollout.

Last week we said a final farewell to both our dear friend and colleague James Lake and our home at Blackwood Street. It's a bittersweet move, one we wished we could have made with James, his humour, his friendship and his incredible talent.

However after eight years and a million memories, it was time for a change. Fresh paint and fresh starts. But we're still in the same suburb, because let's be honest, we can't handle that much change. It's just a slightly new view.

We look forward to welcoming you to Vale Street North Melbourne.

Last week Seesaw tragically lost a dear friend.

James, it was an absolute honour to work alongside you. Always so calm, hilarious, kind and wise. So breathtakingly talented. No words can ever describe how much we will miss you. We are heartbroken.

Our thoughts are with Janet, Zoë, Cam, Tim, Toki, Neil and his family and friends during this difficult time.

Rest easy gorgeous man. x
