We are after a new team member to join us here at Step Bros Pty Ltd to learn a fantastic trade that will serve you well for many years to come.

As there are always new aspects of this trade coming into vogue it is a career that is always changing so the job stays exciting.

At first there will be new components to learn & deal with while collaborating closely with our experienced team members before moving on to making your first ever simple stair. By the time your apprenticeship has finished you should be able to make a grand geometrical style stair.

There is some metal work involved in this job but mostly timber. Some CNC skills will be learnt but we pride ourselves on teaching hand skills also.

We don't require any certain level of qualifications (don't have to of done VCE or VCAL etc) but we need you to have a basic level of mathematics as you will have to add & subtract a lot every day.

We are a small family business that believes that work needs to be a fun environment which we work hard to create. We enjoy each other’s company which is particularly important to our culture.

Stair building is a rewarding career choice that never gets boring and it takes an elevated level of care & respect to master. As you are building something that is a permanent feature within someone's much loved home, the level of finish that must be achieved is of the highest quality meaning you are not just another tradesperson you are a quality tradesperson.

We are after someone that has a love of wood work NOT someone that just thinks they would like to try this trade. We want only applicants that know they want a career in the building / joinery industry.

Work hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm with overtime available including the odd Saturday during the peak periods.

The boys at Step Bros have finished another massive job out at Templestowe on Friday. 2m wide with American Oak treads and handrails .

We are seeking a new team member to join us in our family run staircase company that has been running for nearly 30 years.

You must have a strong eye for detail to fill this roll as our customers expect nothing but the best at all times so some experience with stairs and or carpentry experience is required to fill this roll.

The position available requires you to be able to install a wide range of staircases & balustrade to a variety of customers & locations.

A suitable car is made available to you which does have tools supplied except for your basic hand tools which are to be supplied by the successful applicant.

A team uniform is also supplied.

We are after a fun person that is able to fit into our happy work environment that is also able to get there work done without any fuss. So if you are looking for a change of environment or a new start we would love to hear from you in regards to this position.

Salary: $58,000 – $79,000 per year
