Throwback to 1997: Crafting Melbourne’s Crown Casino Neon Icon 🌟

Behind the Scenes: 27 years ago, our skilled artisans embarked on a neon odyssey, shaping the iconic sign that graces the heart of Melbourne’s entertainment precinct even to today. Let’s rewind the clock and relive the experience.

🔍 The Details:
Ruby Red Neon: Each letter, meticulously formed, glowed with a 15mm diameter ruby red neon outline. Passion and precision merged.

Recessed Channel: The heart of the sign lay within a recessed channel, a secret sanctuary for brilliance.

Dulux Satin & Gloss Finishes: Inside that channel, both satin and gloss, harmonising elegance and allure.

Flytower Grandeur: The sign spanned over 10 metres wide and 9.8 metres tall, a beacon of opulence.

Materials of Artistry: Our palette included aluminium, neon tubing, and low voltage lamps—each element whispering tales of craftsmanship.

Our two musketeers flew to the other side of the world last week to saturate themselves and knowledge bank on the exciting developments in all things large format print being showcased at FESPA Global Print Expo in Amsterdam 22 March 2024.

With over 500 exhibitors, the conference showcases the latest in print personalisation technologies, trends in vinyl wraps and sustainability - offering a panoramic view of the industry’s future.

In this photo is our master of installs - Graham Stewart at 25 years of age. Let’s be honest—the safety practices of the '80s were a far cry from today’s high standards. Hard hats, basic harnesses, and manual labour were not necessarily the norm. Graham and his team braved heights, wind, and uncertainty, ensuring that each letter was perfectly aligned, even as the wind tugged at their tools. Bentleigh Group’s commitment to quality was unwavering even back then. Every bolt tightened, every cable secured—these signs were built to withstand time and weather.

• Cutting-Edge Technology: Bentleigh Group now employs cutting-edge tools. Laser measurements, digital design, and 3D simulations ensure precision beyond imagination. Safety? It’s non-negotiable. Especially for the stringent safety protocols specifically adhered to for Kmart Australia

But it was her work on the Lakes Entrance pylon sign for Coles Group that truly set her apart. This sign, a first of its kind in Australia, boasts unique construction, intricate detailing, and innovative engineering. Mariana’s management turned it into a standout signage landmark.

Her creativity knows no bounds, and her designs and accuracy leave a glowing mark on our brand.

Michelle is our incredible Administration Manager, and she shares with us her journey;

"I joined BG in 2018, bringing with me prior experience in signage. Coming into Bentleigh Group, I appreciated that it’s an Australian family-owned business. Here, you interact directly with the company owner. It’s not just business; it’s a family-oriented endeavour.

I began my journey in the accounts department as an accounts administrator, where I was responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable. Over time, I transitioned to the role of Administration Manager, where I currently oversee both the administration team and HR functions.

One of my standout achievements at Bentleigh has been the implementation of a paperless system. This initiative has streamlined our processes and enhanced efficiency within the organisation. Additionally, I have enjoyed being the lead in expanding our team, growing it to include five dedicated members.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit our team in the Philippines, where I focused on fostering team cohesion and strengthening our bonds. This experience not only provided valuable insights but also contributed to building a more unified and productive team."

Remembering the exciting journey with Kmart Australia of creating the entire store signage for their new Kmart Concept store "Polaris" at Eastland Ringwood, launched just before Christmas 2023. From construction design development using sustainable print materials to ensuring seamless, innovative installations, the process was truly memorable.

Exciting news with the grand opening of a Woolworth's full line supermarket in Spotswood, Victoria last week. Bentleigh Group celebrates the journey of signage creation, installation to completion, marking a significant milestone in a 10-year project of Woolworths Group. Congratulations to all partners involved and associated teams for this mammoth project.

Excited and honoured to have been a part of the recent opening of the first-ever First Choice Liquor Market in Tasmania. 🍻

Our team created and installed the bold signage for the store, reflecting the latest finishes in signage materials and construction design. Thank you Coles Group for having us on your team.
