👯‍♀️MIXTAPE Q&A👯‍♀️
A lot has been happening at Mixtape Studios, and if you haven’t been to class in a while or you’re not on our mailing list you might be confused about what’s going on.
Below I’ve done a little Q&A with some frequently asked questions plus some extra info that might be useful.
🤔IS MIXTAPE STOPPING CLASSES? No! Mixtape classes will still continue - although we will no longer be operating out of 308 St George’s Rd.
🤔WHERE ARE YOU GOING? We are going to different locations around Melbourne - Exact locations and new timetable will be revealed on JULY 15
🤔WHY ARE YOU LEAVING? The rent has been raised over 40% due to market value.
🤔WILL THERE BE CASUAL CLASSES? Yes! 80s FIT and B***Y FIT (more info on July 15)
🤔CAN I STILL USE MY MULTI-CLASS PASS? Yes! You will still be able to use and buy multi class passes and use them for casual classes at every location.
🤔HOW WILL I BOOK A CLASS? The same way as you do now. The website will be updated to say the location of where the class will be held but it will be exactly the same booking system.
🤔WILL PRICES CHANGE? No. Casual classes will stay the same price.
🤔WILL THERE BE ANY ONLINE CLASSES? I am working on some pre recorded videos for the VHS CLUB. But I am thinking about doing some live online morning classes - thoughts?
🤔WILL NADIA STILL COME TO WORK THE DESK/DOOR? Yes! Nadia is coming along for the mixtape ride with me! She will be there on Saturday mornings like usual…and at least for the first month at all locations - just for support (she doesn’t know this yet…but if I say it here, she can’t say No!!
🤔 WILL WE STILL DO SHOWCASES? Yes! Maybe not a proper Mixtape Showcase until next year. - but we have many performance opportunities coming up.
🤔WHEN IS ALL THIS HAPPENING? 1 more week at 308. (Last causal class is next Thursday) Then classes are back from August in different locations.
🤔ARE YOU SAD? I was. I loved my studio, so much love, blood, sweat and tears was poured into it. But I’m excited for a new adventure. Mixtape is not a space. It’s us dancing together that creates the magic. ✨✨✨

Over 4 weeks you will learn a fun pop P***y Cat Dolls inspired routine choreographed by Annabella Dickson then on the 5th week, we perform to the camera! Local filmmaker Kim Summer will shoot and direct the dance video and then she will edit the clip which will be uploaded online for you to show all your friends and family.

This course is an open level and can be danced in jazz shoes, runners or dance heels. On the shoot day we will be performing the routine with costumes, multiple times, with professional lighting to get shots of different angles.

Hope everyone has a great start to the year. Can’t wait to move my body! I’ve been doing alot of sun baking, eating delicious foods and drinking tasty drinks all the while getting excited for what’s to come in the dance floor!

Mondays at 7pm we have our JAZZY course and Wednesday at 6pm we have a HEELS COURSE.
