Performing And Visual arts in the Eastern Dandenongs
The PAVED Festival showcases different artistic endeavours in collaboration with local businesses.
Do you have school aged children interested in theatre? Come along tonight to Gemco Players Community Theatre at 6:30pm.
Reminder that tonight is enrollment for youth classes.
There will be an info session about what to expect in each group from 6:30 to 6:45 followed by a chance to enrol.
If you already know what to expect, feel free to just pop in any time between 7:00 and 8:00 for a few minutes to sort out your enrolment!
Parents/Guardians must sign an enrolment form, including for Seniors.
Youth Gemco classes are back for 2024! Come along for some fun, drama skill and confidence building and the chance to perform for an audience twice throughout the year.
**Please note there is a change in day for Juniors for 2024.**
Times are as follows:
Juniors (Prep to Year 4) - Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15
Intermediates (Year 5, 6 and 7) - Wednesdays 5:30 to 7:00
Seniors (Years 8 to 12) - Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
Fees are $70 (plus GST) per term with a 10% discount when you pay for 2 terms up front, 15% discount if you pay for 3 terms upfront and 20% discount if you pay for all 4 terms upfront (non-refundable).
Classes will start on Tues 6th of Feb for Juniors and Wednesday 7th for Intermediates and Seniors.
Interactive Murder Mystery Night - Round the world in 72 day Can you solve the murder? Enjoy a three course meal while actors entertain you with a smashing murder mystery! Set in 1925 - Audience are encouraged to dress up in 1920’s style Delicious 3 course meal and the bar is open.
This one promises to be a huge amount of fun! It's for one night only and tickets must be booked in advance, due to catering requirements. If you'd like a glimpse of what happens on the Murder Mystery Train, but have been unable to book before it sells out, gather your friends and give this a try! Better still, dress in 1920's style to win a prize! The best value around at $48 including a 3 course dinner and show!

What a great afternoon in Upper Beaconsfield today. Started with entrees at Carlei Estate to watch Tracey Roberts - musician jazz duo. Then a short walk to the Pine Grove Hotel to see Replavement Driver. (Thoroughly recommend a visit for the affogato alone, but the music, wine and food was exquisite)
A little glimpse of the U3A Emerald exhibition of works on at the Hills Hub until 3pm today.
Head up to carnival 🎡 day at Hairy Dog Cafe
Local legends Neesy Smith and Stewart Kohinga will be treating the lunch time crowd at the Cockatoo Returned and Services Club (R.S.L.) with blues, gypsy, jazz and folk from 12pm to 2pm.
It will be buzzing today in Gembrook with a great variety of experiences to enjoy. The day starts off with the Kids fun run with Puffing Billy and Gembrook’s Christmas Market up at the Gembrook Community Centre.
Here you’ll soon get tapping to the Soopa Doopa Bush Band and you’ll find the Sue Jarvis Exhibition right nearby.
Down in the Main Street it’s all happening at the Hairy Dog Cafe, The Station House Gembrook and K A Elements. Music, 🎶 Carnival 🎡 and Jewellery making.
Today in Emerald catch the melodic sounds of young songwriter Follow the Robin at Sticks & Stones Cafe Emerald from 12.30pm and Mark Gardner Music will be kicking off Happy Hour and pre dinner at Elevation at Emerald Restaurant & Bar between 4pm and 6pm.
Today wraps up the PAVED festival and we have some great events happening across the Eastern Dandenong Ranges.
Up at Upper Beaconsfield are Tracey Roberts playing at Carlei Estate from 12.30 and Replacement Driver at the Pine Grove Hotel from 1pm.

This is a little glimpse of some of the fun to have at Gilwell Park in Gembrook.
Enjoy free activities with The Dreaming Space and have fun climbing the bouldering wall. Gilwell Park will
also be running the Flying Fox from 10.30 to 11.30, $20 and Rock Climb Wall from 1pm to 2pm, $15. Plus a visit from Santa between 1.30 and 3 pm, face painting,
sausage sizzle, burgers and coffee.

PAVE 2020 - 29th March - 5th April
PAVE stands for Performing And Visual arts in Emerald. It is an umbrella event designed to allow various community groups and local performers to showcase programs and talents to the broader Emerald community and surrounding areas.
Emerald is a lovely village, nestled in the Eastern Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne. Held in a gorgeous setting on Kilvington Drive, Heroes Ave and the Puffing Billy station precinct, FunFest celebrates the first day of the PAVE Festival and welcomes a huge number of guests from all across the nation. FunFest is a free event – booking is not required.
