Underbites are often challenging to treat but in some cases, non-invasive treatments can be an option. With this patient, we were able to correct his underbite within 12 months using a combination of clear aligners and elastic wear.

Digital dentistry has come a long way, especially when it comes to getting a crown for your tooth 🦷

Without the messy moulds that are used in traditionally made crowns, patients find this process more comfortable. Can you spot the difference? ✨

Discolouration of a single tooth can occur for a number of reasons, one such reason is trauma. This patient fell when skateboarding as a teenager, and as a result, his tooth developed an infection and became discoloured 🦷 .

We were able to treat the infection with root canal therapy and then performed internal bleaching to reverse the discolouration. He is no longer self-conscious about his smile and is very happy that we were able to take a conservative approach.

Is it worth trying direct-to-consumer orthodontics (eg. Smile Direct Club)?

With countless options to straighten your teeth, deciding which option would suit you best can be a real challenge. This patient was ready to fix her overlapping front teeth and was hoping for an alternative to traditional metal braces.

She opted for Invisalign treatment, and 6 months later, her teeth are aligned and she couldn't be happier! 😄✨

Do you have wisdom teeth? Many people have four, others have two or three and some even have none!

For those with wisdom teeth, there are many reasons why wisdom teeth are often extracted.

There are a number of things that could help relieve the pressure and prevent damage from long-term grinding. A splint is one option to help relieve the muscle strain as it distributes the force when grinding.

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics 🦷

A CEREC crown is made from high-strength ceramic and is designed and fabricated using computer-assisted technology in our clinic computer 🖥

The whole process can be completed in a single visit, taking approximately 2 hours from start to finish. This is a great option for patients who have a busy schedule as you do not have to return for a second visit, which is typical for traditional lab-made crowns.

Our patient was concerned about their tooth as it had a very large metal filling that was slowly breaking down over the years.

Through CAD-CAM technology, a one visit porcelain crown was the best option as it would strengthen the tooth and also improve the aesthetics 🦷

Our patient can now chew on this side without being concerned of the tooth breaking down any further ☺️

Dr. Rama Chockalingam has a special interest in oral surgery as he finds this area of dentistry interesting and challenging.

Have a missing tooth? 🦷 Nothing is as good as your natural, healthy teeth, but dental implants can come close. Dental implants are frequently used to replace missing teeth, which you may have lost as a result of trauma or dental disease.

Due to a previous bad experience, this patient had put off visiting the dentist for a number of years. As a result, his teeth have deteriorated and he was self-conscious about his smile.

Upon discussion with one of our dentists, it was decided that composite veneers would be a great interim solution to address his concerns.

He now smiles confidently and routinely attends his maintenance appointments. When the time is right, he is planning to convert these to porcelain veneers to improve their durability and further enhance his smile.
