In all honesty, we are tired, we are both 10 years older then when we started and have just run out of the energy to do any more than day to day operations. There is so much you could do. They worked tirelessly yesterday to ensure the businesses in McBride St were hooked up to the large community generator. We can't thank them enough. Not just us, but those essential services Doctor, bank, chemist and post office.

Well, life in the hills has been interesting lately hasn't it? Here we are again, generator keeping our food supply fresh and safe for when we can reopen. Hopefully we will be back to normal tomorrow, but there is a lot of damage again, so who knows, the powerline people will be busy. Stay safe everyone

Hi everyone, since the power has FINALLY returned to the shop Thursday night. Elise and I will spend the day cleaning up and working out what we have left that is any good. We are thinking we will not re-open until Tuesday since we will need to do some pretty major re-stocking. If we are able to open on the weekend we will. Count on Tuesday, if that changes, we will let you know. As always, now more than ever, thankyou everyone for your support.

**PowerUpdate**

Hey everyone, you may be wondering why we are not open when the lower half of McBride St is.

What you may not be aware of is that McBride St is powered by 2 separate grids. The grid on the Pakenham Rd end only powers up to The Golden Spoon on one side and the old Kia Kaha premises on the other unfortunately.

This means the Melissa Jane Hairdressing, The Black Cockatoo Pizza Cafe, Community Bank Dandenong Ranges, Cockatoo Bakery and Cockatoo Family Medical Practice are still without power. We hope you all understand that if we could be back open and working we would be.

Hey everyone, it will be no surprise to you all that we are currently closed and will be back as soon as the power is.

Thank you to Nathan and the amazing staff Cockatoo IGA + Liquor who have graciously allowed us some fridge and freezer space. THAT is truly what Community is about. Ps.. The Humble Grind is open for business.

**Brunch update**

People always comment how Paul & I are such "positive" people who always do simply "everything" together.

There are a few times when this is NOT a good thing and this is one of them.

We have decided to stay closed for the weekend as we really both feel pretty darn awful and would never forgive ourselves if we passed this on to our amazing staff and wonderful customers.
