One of AMTA’s incredible tutors - the wonderful independent producer Laura Milke Garner and her brilliant production house Milke have put this together with Creative Australia.

Introducing The Producer Lab: A year-round mentoring and workshop program for independent producers, led by MILKE and supported by Creative Victoria.

MILKE will provide over $25,000 directly to Victorian independent producers. This is a comprehensive 12 month paid program designed to provide emerging to mid-career independent producers with the skills, knowledge, and industry relationships necessary to excel.

Available for six Victorian producers in 2024, participants will bring their own projects, benefiting from a combination of mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities for themselves and their producing career.

Recently I received the loveliest email from an AMTA Alumni Sarah Cullen. I worked with Sarah a few years back when I was doing Creative Coaching and out of our sessions Sarah created the most wonderful creative business – The EveryBody Dance Company. Her incredible dance classes took off and have become hugely popular. Sarah’s other dream was to get back to performing and dancing herself and this year – that dream came true too!

This is why artists teach – it is truly the most heart-bursting experience when your clients or students make their dreams come true, and to see their joy and to know you helped them, in whatever way you could, on their path toward those moments. It is an amazing feeling and a way to give back and invest in the arts and culture that will come after you.

AMTA Alumni Elizabeth Gordon-Saker is about to play the lead role of Carrie in 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑀𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 at The Round from 2 – 5th May. The very talented Elizabeth first came to work with us as a Teen in our Musical Theatre Intensive Weekly Masterclass course and then she did the course again in 2023, but this time in the Adult stream!

Huge congrats Elizabeth! What a cracker of a role to play – you’ll be putting all that learning to good use to play the part of Carrie!
