What a fantastic morning we had at Portsea! The sun was shining, the tide was low, and the views were simply breathtaking.

We had a wonderful mix of regulars and newcomers, who did an amazing job keeping up with the pace. It’s always a pleasure to see new faces blending so well with our seasoned hikers😉

This walk is an absolute gem, starting at Sorrento Life Saving Club and taking us all the way to Portsea. The combination of sandy stretches and track walking, with a few inclines, keeps things interesting.
As always, we walked with purpose, raising our heart rates and keeping our cardiovascular systems in check.

Today’s walk was no exception!
A few of us wrapped up the morning at Hotel Sorrento—one of our favorite spots on the Peninsula.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at Greens Bush! There are still a few spots left, so don’t hesitate to join us. We’d love to have you!

Big thanks to Tina for the stunning photos, Michael for keeping the group together, and of course, Steph, our resident “confectionary snake lady” 😉.

Cheers,
Taryn 🍃🥾🌊

What an incredible weekend at Fingal (near Cape Schanck)!!
We had two energetic groups of hikers ready to tackle one of the Mornington Peninsula’s top spots, with some of the best winter weather Melbourne has to offer, who wouldn’t be thrilled? 😉😉😉

On Saturday morning, Michael, Tina, and Steph took the lead, guiding our adventurers on a 12 kilometre trek full of challenges, including an epic climb up 500+ steps! 😆 They tackled everything from soft sand to fallen trees blocking the path, all while covering those big kilometres like pros!

Today, Michael and Steph led another enthusiastic crew on a slightly shorter, but no less exciting journey, where they conquered the infamous 500+ steps once again (descended) 😉 I bet everyone loved the stunning rockpools, especially with the morning’s perfect low tide!

A massive shoutout to Tina, Michael, and Steph for stepping up and leading the groups while I’m at home recovering from the influenza 🫣. I’m crossing my fingers to be back next weekend!

Thank you all for trusting Walk Mornington Peninsula to take you on the best adventures around!

P.S. Big thanks to Tina for the gorgeous photos! x

We had a great night at our second “night hike” in Sorrento on Friday! Adventurers joined us from Melbourne, Hawthorn, Albert Park, and beyond, creating an incredible mix of energy.

We completed 10 kilometres in approximately 2.5 hours, taking a few breaks to soak in the experience. The glow of headlamps and torches illuminated our sandy path, while the ocean’s roar accompanied us along the track.
As the leader, hearing the laughter and chatter in the group really makes it all worth while!!. There’s no better way to end the week than with an exhilarating night hike, immersed in the beauty of nature under the stars.

I hope you’ll join us for our next night adventure on August 31st! But first, we’re heading to Fingal (near Cape Schanck) next weekend for two nearly sold-out events!

Yesterday’s hikes at Flinders was an adventure! Despite the windy conditions, our spirits remained high.

The 40-kilometre winds brought a mix of exhilaration and challenge, adding an exciting twist to our hike. Weather is out of our control, but we embraced it!😬😉

We began our first hike at 8 am with our regular Sunday hikers and a few familiar faces from Saturday, creating an awesome group dynamic.
The towering basalt cliffs at Flinders, coupled with the strong winds, made for a thrilling experience. At times, it felt like we might be swept away, with Steph almost joining the whales in Bass Strait! 😉🤭😆

This track truly tests your balance and leg strength with its inclines and declines. After the previous night’s rain, crossing a muddy creek was an adventurous challenge, but we powered through. No pain, no gain! 😉
A big thank you to the newcomers who joined us for the second walk. It was lovely to meet and spend time with you. And, as always, a big thanks to our regular hikers for your continued participation each weekend.

Looking ahead, we have our NIGHT HIKE this coming Friday night, which will be a great experience.

Check out our upcoming events on our website. I’ll post the link in the comments.

Thanks to Tina, Steph, and Michael for your help in managing everyone ☺️

Cheers,
Taryn🥾🍃🌊

We were braced for a downpour during our Woolamai Circuit walk today, but luck was on our side—the rain started just after we finished! 😅
This morning, we ventured beyond the Peninsula to Phillip Island for a 10km hike. The circuit begins near the Woolamai Surf Club, offering stunning views across Bass Strait and Western Port Bay, on a moderate to easy trail. It's a must-see for nature lovers!

Our group was diverse, with hikers from Sunbury, Officer, Hawthorn, Mt Eliza, Frankston, Hastings, Carrum, and more, all sharing a passion for the great outdoors.

Thanks to everyone who joined us. It was a great morning, and our lunch at the pub afterward was the perfect refuel. 🤓😃🤤

See you tomorrow at Flinders for our two hikes, one at 8am and the other at 11am.

Looking forward to it,
Taryn

20 of us enjoyed an awesome 7km hike along the stunning coastal track of Blairgowrie yesterday😀☀️

As I set off from home, my car informed me it was 4 degrees outside and pouring rain. I couldn’t help but think, “Please don’t let the weather forecast be wrong—we don’t want to get drenched!”

Thankfully, the weather turned out even better than predicted. We were blessed with sunshine and low tide, perfect for snapping some amazing photos!

We maintained a good pace, giving everyone a great opportunity to boost their health and fitness.

A big thank you to everyone who joined! It was wonderful to meet our newcomers and catch up with our regular go-getters😉🤪😄

See you next weekend at Arthurs Seat!

Cheers, Taryn💚🍃🥾

We had a beautiful hike from Kilcunda to Punch Bowl and return, today!🙏🌊

We started a bit later, watching the rain move across the sky before deciding to begin. The first few kilometers were rainy, but we’re a tough group and didn’t mind. Thankfully, the sun came out soon after, drying us off.
We had a fantastic mix of newcomers and regulars, and it was great to catch up with those who hadn’t joined us in a while.

The hike was muddy and challenging in parts, providing an excellent workout. I’m sure everyone burned a lot of calories today!
Well done to everyone who joined. I hope you all enjoyed it, and I look forward to seeing you again!

Thank you to for your help with the group and for your addition to the photos. I REALLY appreciate all of the help that you give me 😀

Blairgowrie tomorrow! Can’t wait!

PLEASE READ👋

Hi Everyone,
I’m thrilled to see that our free night walks in Frankston are growing in popularity with each session! It's wonderful to witness our community coming together!

Some of you might not be aware that I have a full-time job outside of WALK MP. Occasionally, my work extends beyond the usual 9-5 hours. As a result, I can't always commit to regular weekly evening walks. To ensure our walks continue smoothly, many members have suggested creating a group where they can coordinate walks amongst themselves.

From now on, we’ll have walks every Wednesday and Thursday evening in Frankston @ 6:30pm.

I’ll join MOST of the evening walks as I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and keeping up with my fitness.

I will have to hand the reigns over to all of you to coordinate these walks😉I’d hate to cancel a walk because I’m caught up in surgery in Melbourne. I’ve only had to cancel three WALK MP hikes (due to weather), and I want to keep our track record of minimal cancellations.

Please join our WhatsApp group to stay updated and coordinate with each other.

I will add the route and pin it to the top of the WhatsApp group for reference.

Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Warm regards,Taryn

Melbourne graced us with sunshine for our 10km walk in Point Nepean National Park today!☀️☀️☀️
We had a mix of newcomers and regulars who did exceptionally well with the distance and pace.

The walk to Fort Nepean is relatively easy, especially if you don’t power walk like I sometimes do🤭

We spent some time exploring the tunnels at Fort Nepean and enjoyed a quick break in the sun before heading back to our cars.
A few of us capped off the walk with breakfast at a local cafe, soaking up more sunshine. It was a great way to end the weekend!

Remember, we have two walks in Frankston this week, followed by our hike at Kilcunda this Saturday!😉

Have a great week, Taryn💚🥾🍃🌊

Last night, we successfully completed our first-ever NIGHT HIKE at Cape Schanck!🌒🌠

Starting our trek at 7 pm, we covered 12.2 kilometres in approximately 3 hours. I forgot to check my watch 🤪
The weather was perfect: cool with no wind. This hike will go down in history as one of our best experiences yet! We had an amazing group of hikers with great energy and vibes, and everyone kept up well with the pace set by the men at the front.

Our headlamps and torches lit up the trees as we moved along the track. We couldn’t see the ocean until we were right on it, but we could hear its roar in the distance. It was incredible and exhilarating!

We welcomed some newcomers who added to the energy and buzz. Well done to everyone who joined, and it’s always great to have our regulars on board for every adventure💚

Yup, we ended our hike with a well-earned beverage at a bar in Rosebud 🤭😉
See you tomorrow at Point Nepean for another adventure!
