If you know me even a little you probably know Japan is our favourite place. It’s where we come alive & feel most like ourselves.

I will try & refrain from posting too many photos of our trip but there will be some.

As most of my patients know, I’m a little bit obsessed with Japan. Last day in clinic is Tuesday the 8th & I’ll be away for a couple of weeks living my best Kawaii life so if you want to book in before I go, now is the time 😊

When the child’s away the parents play, & by play I mean go for a 14km walk & watching videos on Japan.

For me this means self care, getting out in nature, getting into my body to get out of my head (I’m always in my bloody head). If you have trouble meditating I find this a good way of being mindful & creating space.

This is a pregnancy bbt chart my friends. For all my fertility patients this is what we’re looking for. As I constantly say anything over 16 days post ovulation without your period is pregnancy!🤰

Still, I love meeting the little ones. Having a child changes your life in the biggest way imaginable & to be part of that journey…well it’s not something I take for granted.

Struggling to let go & relax like Elsa here?

Me too. It can be really hard in this day & age, when people can reach us at any time & the mental load of daily life feels like having 20 tabs open.
As a practitioner & business owner I constantly feel guilty, that I should be doing more, that I’m not doing enough. So I’m reminding me as well as you to let that go, to carve out some time for yourself to rest so you can be more when you need to be. Let’s not get burnt out.

Ok so I completely missed International Women’s day yesterday (it was a bit of a busy day).

I did get to catch up last night with my friend & fellow Chinese medicine practitioner last night for a meeting much needed catch up.

We of course talked all things tcm as well as about our daughters who are 4 days apart & our love for Japan.

We also spoke about the support for our industry. So on that note, aside from Millicent, I just want to acknowledge the people in my industry that I go to a lot & can always ask for support. (not a practitioner but right up there).

A bit of fatigue can be normal for a day or so as our hormones have dropped & we’re, well, bleeding!

Full on fatigue & exhaustion can be a sign that we’re blood deficient. Now this could translate as your iron stores (ferritin) being low. However sometimes I find a patient’s bloods to be in range but from a Chinese medicine perspective I can tell they are blood deficient. If this is you, your blood work says you’re “fine” but you feel completely depleted during your period, let’s talk!

When Oestrogen & Testosterone are on the rise, this is the time to make plans, get s**t done & push yourself that little bit outside your comfort zone.
