Here's your weekly tip:
Boost your smoothie with ground flaxseed! Flaxseeds are a fantastic plant-based source of Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of Omega-3 that your body can convert to the more potent fatty acids EPA and DHA — albeit in limited amounts. Just one tablespoon of ground flaxseed can transform your smoothie into an Omega-3 powerhouse.

The Salty Side of Hydration 💧
-
Greetings, fitness friends!
Today's Tip is about the salty side of hydration. While water quenches your thirst, it's the salt that helps shuttle water into your cells, where it's needed most. But not all salts are created equal when it comes to replenishing your body.
-
The best salt for hydration doesn't just come down to sodium content. While regular table salt will do the job, there are better options out there:
-
Kosher Salt: With its larger crystals, kosher salt is a chef's favourite for its ability to distribute more evenly and avoid over-salting. It contains less sodium by volume compared to table salt, which can help you manage your overall intake while still getting the electrolytes your body needs.
-
Sea Salt: Harvested from evaporated seawater, sea salt retains trace minerals like magnesium and potassium, which play small roles in hydration. Its mineral content gives it a different flavour profile that many prefer over table salt. 🧂
-
Himalayan Pink Salt: This rock salt from Pakistan has gained popularity for its purported health benefits. It contains trace amounts of minerals, although these are not in quantities significant enough to have a major impact on health. It has a higher mineral content compared to table salt but with similar sodium levels.
-
When it comes to choosing a salt for hydration, remember that the type of salt is less important than how you use it. Moderation is key, as too much sodium can lead to health issues like high blood pressure. For those who sweat heavily during workouts, a pinch of any of these salts in your water can help replenish what's lost through perspiration.
-
Remember, the best way to maintain electrolyte balance is through a varied diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and other natural sources of electrolytes. And for those high-intensity days, consider adding a bit of salt to your post-workout hydration to help your body recover and rehydrate effectively.
-
Keep these tips in mind as you prepare for your next workout or any time you need to re hydrate!

Happy Mindset Monday, everyone!
-
As we embark on a new week, let's take a moment to recognise the incredible power of our mindset. Our thoughts shape our reality, influencing our motivation, resilience, and overall well-being. The beginning of the week offers a fresh start, an opportunity to set the tone for the days ahead with positivity and strength.
-
This week's affirmation is a tool to help us cultivate a positive mindset: 'I am stronger than my challenges, and my journey inspires others.' Every time you catch yourself harbouring a negative thought, pause and use this affirmation as a counterbalance. Negative thoughts are a natural part of our mental landscape, but they don't have to dictate our actions or outlook.
-
Here's how to effectively use this affirmation: 🛠️
-
Recognise Negative Thoughts: Pay attention to moments when doubt, fear, or negativity creep into your mind. Awareness is the first step toward change.
Pause and Reflect: Instead of letting these thoughts spiral, take a deep breath and pause. Acknowledge the thought without judgment.
-
Repeat the Affirmation: Replace the negative thought with our weekly affirmation. Say it out loud or silently to yourself, focusing on the words and their meaning.
Visualise Success: Imagine yourself overcoming the challenges in front of you, drawing strength from the affirmation.
-
By practising this process, you're not only training your body but also your mind. Cultivating a positive mindset is crucial for overcoming obstacles, reaching your fitness goals, and leading a fulfilling life. This week, let's commit to monitoring our thoughts and using our affirmation as a powerful tool against negativity.
-
Remember, the journey to a healthier, happier self-starts with the mind. Let's inspire each other with our strength and resilience.
-
Share your experiences with the affirmation throughout the week, and let's support one another in cultivating a positive, unstoppable mindset.
-
Let’s Go
-
Cheers Cath

Our Story
Why you should train with me?
There are so many gyms, health clubs and personal trainers out there, it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. Ultimately it comes down to who is going to be the best person to help you achieve your fitness goals in the safest and most enjoyable environment. I believe fitness and health is a long term commitment, not a short term fix
My speciality is providing you with a variety of simple yet challenging cardio and strength sessions based on great technique to keep the exercises safe and effective. I will also educate you on diet and nutrition to give you the confidence, knowledge and skills to make healthy choices in your day to day life for the rest of your life.
So ask yourself these questions:
Has it been years or you simply can’t remember the last time you did any exercise?
You want to get fitter and stronger but the last time you did any training was in high school. You would love to improve your fitness but need a helping hand to get you started and guide you along the way.
Have you been a member of a gym and didn’t enjoy the experience?
You actually joined a gym in the past but you didn’t go very often, you didn’t feel comfortable training there or you didn’t get the results you wanted. You want to begin training again but not at a gym or with a group of strangers as you want a more personal experience.
Do you have a special event coming up?
Perhaps you are getting married and want to look your best on your special day. Or maybe you have a big holiday planned and want to get in better shape so you can be more active while you are travelling.
