Here are some hair tips you may not have known;

1. Focus on Scalp Cleansing: When shampooing, concentrate on cleansing your scalp rather than excessively lathering the lengths of your hair. Gently massage the shampoo into your scalp to remove dirt and excess oil, then let the shampoo rinse down the strands as you wash it out.

Itchy scalp?
The cooler change coming through means dryer hair and skin. That also includes your scalp. You may notice your skin is getting dryer than usual and you need to moisturize. Too often we forget our scalp is also skin and needs to be nourished accordingly also. Winter means a slight change in shampoos to help hydrate your scalp. Feel like you're losing more hair than usual?

Here’s one reason this could be happening: Winter means less hair washing, less brushing, and more ponytails. So the hairs you naturally lose are caught in ponytails for an extra few days. So when you wash your hair 2 days after you normally would, there are anywhere between 100-200 EXTRA hairs that haven't been removed yet because we lose between 50-100 hairs a day.

Winter means cooler dryer air so it's hard to maintain moisture in your scalp, hair, and skin.

Here are some tips to help!

1. Make sure you're not going OTT with dry shampoo as this can block the hair follicles and cause buildup and dandruff plus soak up the hair's natural oils.

2. Makes sure to use a shampoo brush to help exfoliate your scalp

3. Hotter showers are bad for your scalp as it further strips you of natural oils and dry out and irritate your skin.

If you suffer from frizzy hair try using a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and avoid shampooing frequently. You want the hair's natural oils to do their thing and control the frizz.
