2025FY is officially here! The Beam Team recommends the following...

It's that time of year again when employees will be eagerly awaiting their Annual Income Statement needed to have their individual tax returns done. To avoid disappointment and issues we suggest employers advise employees not to make appointments with their tax agent until after 14th July.

Team Beam is already underway with this process for clients engaged to have this important task taken off their hands.

We are hearing it across many sectors and all over the media of late, I am sure you are too! Costs of living generally have increased across the board! Paralleling into business, industry leader Xero have recently announced that there are further increases coming to their pricing. You may have recently received an email or other communication from Xero directly about these changes.
There is no need to stress, as Xero will move you to their new plans in phases and there should be no disruption to your file.

We are heading into the new financial year with a blast! Some of the Beam team came together on Friday Merewether Carlton Rugby Club Green Room to have a day of connection, learning, growing and fun. We started the day in a Human Knot, had delicious morning tea and lunch from Euro Patisserie and ended the day at Modus Merewether to dine and wine.

We were privileged to have Holly Martin The Marketing GP shared her experience building relationships throughout her life and Stacie Shaw from PKF Sydney & Newcastle share the impact that processes and reviewing processes can have on a business. We were interested to hear that even stepping outside of the process sometimes (risk limiting of course) is needed.

Shoutout to Luke Kellett from Headjam for giving us a real client experience with Beam and showing a client's perspective of the critical role we play in his business.

The middle of the day was spent with Andrew Hughes where we started to explore deep within ourselves, were vulnerable, built trust, empathised and supported each other. We received great insight into how each other learns, feels and behaves. A great foundation for the Beam team to grow even further on over the next 12 months.

The Beam team are ready to roll into the 2025 financial year with a high vibe and lots of passion! We love what we do everyday for our clients and their businesses and days like these remind us of the power team we have!

From 1 July 2024, the Super Guarantee (SG) rate will increase to 11.5% as planned.
The SG rate will continue to rise by 0.5 percent each year until it reaches 12% by 1 July 2025.
Put simply, this means more will be going towards your super in the next financial year.

If after consulting with your Accountant, you are planning to bring forward payment of your June quarter super to secure a tax deduction in the year ending 30/6/24 please be aware that it must reach the employee’s super fund by 30th June.

As we are required to use clearing houses to pay super this means bringing forward this payment to ensure the clearing house has sufficient time to make this happen.

This also applies if you want to maximise how much is contributed for you individually for that financial year. There are limits to what can be contributed for an individual annually. Exceeding your maximum allowable contribution can lead to increase tax being incurred. It is therefore highly recommended that you speak to your Accountant/Financial Adviser to seek advice on how much additional super you are able to contribute to avoid any additional tax.

�If using the Auto-Super function in Xero, you must submit your super payment by 2pm on Tuesday 18th June 2024.

If you are using an alternative clearing house we suggest you check their processing cut-off date now to avoid disappointment.

The Fair Work Commission has announced on Monday 3rd June that the National Minimum Wage will increase by 3.75% from 1st July 2024.
